This is climbing my charts. I really connect with Schilling's experiences about waiting for MMOs and then being disappointed. I am glad that this game is being produced by gamers and not plain investors.

With so many titles and things on the horizon it is easier to wait for titles like this. Just get it right guys!

I was wondering why you guys hadn't covered this yet... hehe.. nice write up.

This is my personal "most anticipated title" .. and the newly announced RPG is a game I will be getting as soon as it is out.

Can't wait for more details on Copernicus though, highly anticipated as these guys have gotten top tier talent and are taking their time. They are not just rushing some half assed IP out because MMO's are the cool thing to do. They love making games.

Excited.

Well... "Different", yes, different will be a good thing - but being
different for difference's sake leads you to things like Spellborn...

Spellborn had excellent art design, a really intriguing story, some
really innovative game mechanisms - and was just so darn different no
one could connect with it.

Players need a little common framework to connect to the world -
Spellborn didn't have that.

Even little things; for example DDO - if Turbine had licensed, say,
Greyhawk, they'd be swimming in money... But Eberron is just, well,
weird - it's your favorite cereal - elf and dwarf shaped marshmallows
and all - sitting in goat's milk just for the sake of being different.

Basically, be different, but do it for a reason - not to just have
something to point at and say "It's innovative!"

And, 38, please don't take your game world so seriously that we all
cant have a little fun with it... A dry, ascetic world that puts arc
over entertainment is pretty much doomed from the get-go. A lot of
WoW's charm is in the little 'fourth wall' bits that let the player
know, on a sub-conscious level even, that this is still a game and
the developers are having just as much fun making the place as we are
playing in it.

In short, immerse us in the back-story with racial choices and
environments, wow us with the splendor and grandeur of some of the
greatest imaginations on this humble little rock we call home, show
us new ways of combining the 'holy trinity' of classes to accomplish
a goal - but, please, always let it be fun. :)

Whenever I think of Curt Schilling, all I can think of is him saying "Oh! There's my little buddy!"

If you listen to the Instance you'll get it.
