Curious about the dungeon-crawling experiences to be had in Rift: Planes of Telara? We are too, and thanks to new information released today by Trion Worlds, the PvE picture has been made a little bit clearer. Darkening Deeps is the subject of the latest Trion dungeon reveal, and the region plays host to all manner of rift-spawned denizens of the dark. Goblins form the bulk of the foes to be fought in the Deeps, along with water elementals and a mysterious power that calls to all Telaran heroes.
In a press release heavy on lore-centric detail but light on gameplay specifics, Trion describes the dungeon as "a vast chasm, choked with smoke and the reek of goblins." Trion also highlights the Gedlo priests, spawned from Fire Rifts and responsible for directing the vast goblin horde. Adventurers looking to explore the region can begin in the Gloamwood Pines, a small village from which several denizens have gone missing.
Stay with Massively this month for more Rift: Planes of Telara coverage, as we bring you news and views from tomorrow's Trion Worlds Gamer Day event.

Can't wait to play this game. The dungeons evolve with your level and as you get higher in level the dungeons get bigger and harder each time you come back. LOVE IT!!!

dungeons in MMOs today aren't the dictionary definition ... any INSTANCED area for a low number of players is called DUNGEON.
On the subject, glad to see RIFT releasing more and more info, sad to see it is 90% lore and 10% actual information, the game still seems more like a story than an actual MMORPG atm.

This is definitely getting wrecked by TERA.

Yeah sure, since asian mmo's have such a great track record here......... Tera's hype is the same as Aion's and it will result the same way.

About the only thing TERA will wreck is the expectations of their players ...

TERA is the next generation of MMOs just accept it and move on, the dream team of their developers consist of highly skilled people that have worked on games that have been recognized far and wide.

Unbridled enthusiasm for a game isn't healthy. MMOs have a distinctively bad track record for over-promising features. I'm glad you think TERA is the future, however there are lots of people (including me) who think it will be yet another niche game in an overcrowded market. As for the "dream-team", well that doesn't change the fact that it will be another Asian grinder. This doesn't play well in North America.

Hehe, I'm used to have very high expectations for MMOs, however there also just some people that hate just because (i.e. every MMO that comes from Asia), I know there have been none MMOs that made success from Asia, but if this proves to be Aion with manual aim and no grind (yes no grind, they already talked about westernization) then I'll be happy to take a ride.
