Wow, if even the Aion's designated supporter paints a bleak picture of the mindless grind of this game, no wonder Aion is in such a bad shape.

This sums it up. Aion has hit the freefall, I doubt NCWest are ever going to be able to salave it. Well, not that they would, lazy bastards.

Wow, Aion's designated hater and WoW fantrolll pretending to be an ex Aion player, took some comment out of context (once again), to act like some reporter who isnt trolling or making bullshit up all day to complain about the game, not jumping on the trolls daily baiting comments and just talking about the games contents (in troll-circles also considered as "Aion supporter/fanboy/brownnoser") would complain about "mindless grind", when he actually isnt.

No wonder we hear so often Aion is supposed to be in a bad shape for all kind of reasons, to intentionally turn off interested player, when you cant even talk normally about the game or mechanics without your words being twisted by trolls to support their year long lasting agenda against any game besides their precious one.

Lorem. Trolling is deliberately being an ass.

Aion is failing miserably due to bad management and no changes to issues that need fixing. The game is fun to an extent, it could be SO much more, if NC actually did anything.

you are missing 1 way to get armor

do the fenrir/miragent questline, 5 armor pieces and a weapon (and a few 100millian kinah poorer)

Luckily, the writer plays elyos and can outnumber opponents on all but one server now to get the AP in no time by contolling the abyss, spamming forts, dredge and kills. It still amazes me the vp of the game admits they noticed server imbalances.

It amazes me further that they only noticed it AFTER they offered free server transfers and Asmos flockes to one server to finall be dominant after 10 months. And this surprised NCsoft... so now that Asmos dominate a server, they freeze transfers and the vp blames the players for server imabalances that they just noticed... Failsoft loses.

This game is just too riddled with inbalances. Rather than upping the level of gear thats available, bridge the gaps that exist in the current equipment hierarchy. Gear makes a huge difference in this game, with lots of players refusing to allow lesser geared players to join on the harder missions/instances. And guess where all the best drops are gearwise? Yes, in instances or pvp. Catch 22.

Or from world bosses that are camped by the larger legions. Ofcourse the only other way to get good gear is pvp, but if you're already under geared you're straight away at a disadvantage anyway, which if you keep losing pvp fights you lose the points you already have that *you need* to win to buy the equipment you need to win. (You dont have good gear you will lose everytime unless that gold geared opponent is a noob with a botched lobotomy). So Catch 22 again.

Or... you could craft your own. And guess what? all the ingredients you need to craft are obtained by doing missions in the instances you wont get invited to unless your well geared already or part of a large legion willing to invite you. If you do get the ingredients you may waste all the time and money you spent gathering them as success is not guaranteed. Check the forums for issues with crafting Miragents/Fenris sets...
Mention "Hot Heart of Magic" to an Aion player and watch their face look like they chewed a wasp with a mouthful of tar thrown in. Unless ofcourse they were one of the lucky lottery winners who succeeded after only 2-3 tries. Some have wasted 10's of millions of ingame currency on up to 15 attempts to craft and then rage quit. They are not bad players for doing so, they are normal human beings reacting to bad systems and game design.

Its a vicious circle. Catch 22 time and time again.

This game is completely stacked against anyone who isn't part of a large and organised mob. If you are a casual/solo player you're a dead duck in water. There is a growing divide between the top geared group of players and those below. Introducing *another* layer of gold equipment above the current is just adding another unachievable layer to those with lesser equipment (green and blue), and the only ones who will be able to compete for the new level of equipment are those who are already gold geared.

Some people complain about levelling in this game. I dont think theres a problem with levelling as such, Its the gear war that ruins it.

This will just enhancing and expanding an already existing divide. Way to go. Plug the gaps, dont increase them.

This may have been a possibility for me, that is if all my characters hadn't been permanently deleted and removed when all the server merges happened, so much for ever playing this atrocity ever again !

What were you expecting, if themselves admitted they have limited tools to to the merger ? It seems that quite a lot of accounts were affected by character loss, inventory loss and so on. That is a sign of the rudimentary tools (some Korean developed database scripts) they used to to the merger. Even for the transfers, if you remember they had to to the first transfer wave twice, because they encountered some data loss situation at their first try.
NCWest performed the merger and transfers like a low paid bunch of college kids doing working on the University's dorm database records.
