I haven't played LOTR since the original open beta, would be funny to play it years later in beta again.

I am looking forward to seeing the changes, I was way into sandboxes when it came out so I didn't give it a fair shake. I am definitely in the camp where if it wasn't going FTP I wouldn't have tried it again. DDO sold me on the FTP model, so I am sure Turbine will do it right.

I am also very cheap, so the FTP model works great for me. I spend very little cash =)

I have no understanding for people that want play a beta of a game that is already out for almost 2/3 years I think :) Why do you want play something that limit you to do anything if you already can play the full game?

Fremium is cheaper than buying a box, endures longer than a free trial and has a sense of permanency.

There you are wrong sinborn "Fremium" will end up costing you a lot more them when you had the option to buy the box at the start!

How so? A monthly account is still $15/mo but now you don't have to buy the box.

Jack, to play the full game right now you need to pay the subscription (15$/month). On the beta it will be free to play, and remain free after beta.

And in DDO, that uses the same model, it's very cheap. I spent less then ten dollars so far (been playing since F2P started) and I have access to almost every quest and item in game (you can get points to spend in the shop by playing instead of paying). Seens like a good deal for me.

And on a side note, thanks Massively for the key. Hope I can get to Moria soon.

Great!

Can this be used for the EU beta? If there even is an EU beta - signups are available though?

There is no EU beta. If you can find the link on the Codemasters site, it leads you to the Turbine Beta here in the states.

Slightly off-topic, but... I wanna know where the options are to make our elves look like the one in the picture. I wish they looked that cool! ;)
