Lani is a spokesperson. She was the one who spoke heaven and earth about Aion before it came out. Look at it now.

Sweet talking, how I hate it.

How many people in North America really care about Aion. I think it was one of the most over-hyped steaming pile of garbage I have ever played. That being said. I played at launch so I am all ears to hearing this game has improved. I was just soooo disappointed with this title.

I got caught up in the hype at launch myself, I recently resubbed just out of pure boredom with other games and I am happy to say its not nearly as shitty as I thought it would be, im actually having...fun? I rerolled an Assassin and since the merge that everyone keeps bitching about, the servers are packed. Now i havent reached the wall of the grind yet but I have noticed that it is waaaay easier to level now. I'll reserve judgement on how easy it stays until later I guess.

If you are bored out of your mind with w/e you are playing give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised

I am sure the pvpers just love the idea of more pve instances for people to hide from them. Lol

You have to get to those instances. If they are in rifting or abyss areas there's a strong reason for the route to them to be camped: after all you'll get a high rate of solo players.

This expansion has piqued my interest, but I'm still on the fence about Aion. I quit a few weeks after I hit 50 due to lack of content, dredgion exploiting and pvp being zergy and very gear based. It seemes that they're addressing some of these problems, but I'm not quite sure will it be enough. It would be nice to see more info about this from actual players -- mainly if this is worth resubscribing for and will it keep people busy for more than one or two months.

I can't trust Aion's community managers anymore after all that empty talk they did back when the game launched and them being completely oblivious to the fact that the game had serious problems.

It's nice of them to make this a free expansion though.

Pvp is still zergy with size in numbers and gear mattering a great deal. Servers are so out of whack right now with transfers.

Yeah, I just checked aionsource and it really seemes they made a mess out of these transfers lol :)

Also I see a lot of players with full lvl50 abyss gear. Back when I played it was so difficult to obtain even one item. Did they do something to the abyss gain rate?

Nope.... one factions just controls the forts and so AP is easier to acquire. They did slightly increase dredgion AP rewards, but other than that it's about who has the forts and the balaur dont do a damn thing to balance the sides.

Why does the NA team keep taking credit for the work the Korean team did?

I think Aion has so much potential. Sadly, the process of "westernization" didn't really consider what the typical Western customer expects from a AAA title these days. The West just expend some measure of instance-based safety options from it's fantasy games. PvE servers, instances PvP on demand, that sort of thing.

So, The Abyss and The Abyss, am i the only person that blinks and types...wtf over? was that a cut and paste from somewhere, it reads like it. Were they that lazy to even take 30 seconds and call it something else?

"I spoke to a level 50 player......" Enough explanation there from Blazier on the dev teams thinking. Still clueless, do they understand they lost a couple hundred thousand (by their admittance) low level folks? Not level 50? And i still see no lessons learned from the never level rifters that cost those devs all those players, among the grinding.

Under lessons learned i also still saw nothing on balance through out the game instead of just "balance at 50", which i see is all they are concerned about.

Nothing in the notes has addressed range imbalance, rifting, game balance. The only thing i see is a quick hack and slash content patch to make instances to protect those not wanting to participate in forced rift farming.

I will bet that these "new" instances will be mighty familiar to those players still playing this title, the only differences will be name changes and a few texture changes.

With the potential MMO's on the way, these Aion devs still dont get it. I also noticed Blaziers mascara wasnt runnig this time in the photo, she must not have been crying this time.

I totally agree with you.

While the end game at 50 is certainly lacking, that has never been the big problem with this game.

Expanding the level cap to 55 is just going to make things worse. It is really sad. So many people wanted to like this game!

I also question Lani when she says "we didn't expect so many 50s after just a few weeks".

The "so many 50's" comment is utter BS. Even at their best, their "LIVE" server stats on all realms had 2%-5% of server population in the 46-50 bracket at best.

I left the game at 30, and it took me two-three weeks of pretty intense play to get that far. I can't see them having a lot of 50s so quickly, but I also think live stats may be skewed by twinking rifter alts, and all the characters you grind up to get a full set of Daeva armor.

"When you capture it, a passage to a canyon will open up, which is the only way you can cross over to the opposing faction's area."

It IS more PvP. Its an Abyss-like area set in the main PvE area, that will allow you to capture your factions keeps from Balaur control, then go across to the opposite factions area. Its a nice combo of PvE effort that will open up PvP opportunity.

Why is she wearing wings? Because she know that the game will be flying over to FREE to PLAY in six months. That game will fail. Not because it will be a bad game, but because no one really cares.
