Sony Online Entertainment has just released a lengthy story trailer for its forthcoming DC Universe Online superhero MMORPG. Debuting early Saturday morning on GameTrailers, the massive video clocks in at over six minutes in length and features nearly all of the DC Comics notables, including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Wonder Woman, the Joker, and others.
The hyper-violent cinematic is the latest creation of Blur Studio, also known for its Star Wars: The Old Republicteaserwork. The cinematic sets up DCUO's overarching story, in which the heroes team up with Lex Luthor to stop Brainiac and his latest threat to humanity.

That storyline looks very intense, twisted, and brutal...one of the many possible ugly outcomes of the future...but yeah who do you trust? This self-proclaimed suspicious messenger from the future? Hah, gave me goosebumps.
Superman appears to be thuggish and angry because it's an alternate universe sort of deal that sets up the plot of DCU.
Near the end of the trailer it explains it all with Luthor time-traveling far enough into the past to give the heroes some chance of fighting the real threat Brainiac.
I remember seeing the alternate universe Superman and the twisted team version of the Justice League called the Justice Lords taking on our Superman and the Justice League in the two animated series "Justice League" and the "Justice League Unlimited"...and this alternate universe Superman is a completely dark cold-hearted sociopathic killing machine, making Lex Luthor look like Santa Claus by comparison.
I think the thing here is that there was a great battle that wasn't just the course of one day. This is a future scenario and that may be what has pushed him to this point.
Yeah, and its also more than likely that Superman knew of Brainiacs return, so when he was called back to the Metropolis or whatever city that took place in, and saw how pretty much every hero was killed, I don't blame him for snapping and going after Lex and the others in such a brutal fashion, they pretty much doomed the world before most anyone knew it.
He probably would of done something earlier, but he was busy recharging his solar duracells...
those kryptonians really should of sprung for the energizer...
Impressive teaser, enough to put the game on my radar. Not buying any hype though. Best of luck, DC. At least you chose an approach that makes Marvel the laughing stock of the MMO world.
