It makes me a little sad. It sounds like rather than try and bring back traditional tanking parties and skillchains they just embraced the burn style of play with Abyssea. That style of play burned a lot of us support out.

Actually Abyssea encourages a variety of jobs to be pressent. Players control the flow of their stay by how they kill the mobs. Magic kills increase your chances of having a time extention/ exp / money chest drop. melee kills increase the overall drop rate of chests.
A melee burn PT wouldn't last very long in Abyssea, maybe they would get their baseline 1.5 hour run but not much more than that.

All these changes are alienating their former customer base so i hope it's brining in new. I played for right at 4 1/2 years and the new stuff they added kept making me like it less and less. Campaign was great when there were almost near constant battles going on and you could actually get some good exp. It wasn't party like exp but was good if you only had an hour to play but wanted to level. Then they shat all over it.

Then they committed, in my eyes, a mortal sin. Raised the level cap to 99 and removed all the caps from CoP. The bragging rights for being able to take down certain NM's and getting through missions like CoP was that they were hard. The bragging rights are useless now. It has fallen so far. I hate to see it as it was my love for a long while.
