My 6 year old is going to love this. I picked up a desk for him and set up his own gaming PC (my old gaming PC). I grew up on Marvel so I think this will be good for us parents and our children.

I love the fact that so many of the new generation of MMOs, like superhero squad, are really changing from past MMORPG format.

That format was ok for launching the genre, but really needs to be changed/opened up alot to appeal to mainstream players.

I don't think that format needs to change but I do feel that we need more variety of game play. Honestly there are people who love the old everquest style of MMO gaming, there are those that love WoW's gameplay, some that love Champions (this one is me) and then there are those that don't like any current MMO gameplay as it is. And more games like this means more variety and more people flocking to MMOs. Do I want the MMO genre to be watered down by hundreds of games? No, but I would like to see a variety of games I can play that are very different from eachother.

The MMO genre is already watered down with 100s of MMOs. :] I like all sorts of styles of gaming. I sometimes randomly change the way the controls work just to play a game a different way. So I agree with you on needing variety.

So I'm assuming Scarlett Johansson won't make another appearance as Black Widow?

I don't get the backlash to this game. They're still making a "proper" marvel mmo, no one's missing out on anything.

Agreed. If you're okay with multiple universes in the comics, why can't you enjoy multiple universes in different media? I like the Zombies universe as much as 616, and the SHSS universe is a fun alternative to any of the other animated universes.

This is THE Marvel MMO they were working on? I hope so because with the competition their take is a really good idea, my first thought when I saw the screenshot above was :"awww cute! that looks fun"

I collect the Super Hero Squad miniatures...ahem...for my kids...ya.

Anyways, this game looks fun and the license is a winner. I suspect that very few 'gamers' will find this game challenging or even interesting. This is targeted at moms and dads trying to raise the next generation of gold farmers :)

No lie - my wife has my 11 year old son farm for her in Farmville when she can't get to it!

I read somewhere that two versions of the online Marvel franchise are in the pipeline. This version of Marvel Universe MMO caters to the younger set, and the mature version of the Marvel Universe MMO is still being developed. Am I wrong?
