I've yet to find an interest in driving a tank around as the basis for an MMORPG. Anyone else having troubles with this?

if you drop the "rpg" part and if it's done properly it could be fun. it will completely depend on how well it's executed imo.

YES!!! YES!!! I'm having a huge problem with it. It's a really dumb idea. And no infantry. OK ... how many wars faught over the last 3 million years were not faught with foot soldiers. This is a stupid idea for a MMO. It will fail because no one will want to play unless its free and even then....I doubt it.

For starters, it *is* free to play. Secondly, it's not an mmorpg.

The closest it comes to an RPG is that it has upgrade and research for your tanks, but there's no storyline, it's really a mmotps.

It's featured on Massively because it is a massively multiplayer game, but even then it's really just a multiplayer game with massively integrated chat. You play battles with 32 tanks. It's more a strategy game than a shooter, you really need to use your head and play as a team and to the strengths of your tank (scout, heavy, sniper) more like chess or you'll be annihilated quickly.

Since its not an mmoRPG, I have no problem with it. In fact I've been looking forward to something like this since I played Red Orchestra and participated in Iron Crescendo.

While a Venn diagram might show little overlap between existing mmorpg players and people looking for a good multi-player tank game that doesn't mean there isn't interest or an audience for this game.

I could easily quit ALL other MMO's for this game.

i dont know about the game itself, but those spots are really cool - firstly, all those laughs at classics mmos, and now this - also not 100% serious, with all its funky music, and puns on repetetive gaming at the end...

Not seeing this fantasy title going anywhere. Other fantasy weapon simulators are out there, world at war, ww2 online, COD, BC2, all are unrealistic and all show none of the accuracy of movement or weapon system. Why play any of them when Quake 4 or Unreal tourny are still out there doing well online with better mods.

This game was fun for about 2 days. I can see that it might appeal to the teen-shooter crowd. Barely realistic. No country vs country yet. Red and green dots and circles and blobs all over the GUI so you can "see" through land at the enemy.

Been playing in the closed beta for a little more than a week (thanks Massively!) and I can safely say this game kicks butt!

Even in a close beta stage I have not run into any bugs or client crashes. The game is addicting and just plain fun!

The only thing that worries me is that right now they're giving out free gold to help everybody progress quickly but it's going to be a long grind without that free gold!

Unless of course you cash shop...

I was having fun in wot until I got to the big leagues... basically the first couple levels of tanks play together but when you get a slightly bigger tank they stick you in with everyone and you die in a single hit from nowhere. Boring.

Tiered battles are being introduced in the next several weeks. This will separate the standard battles into levels keeping this from happening.

I just started the Beta, and although limited, the game is fun. You just drive around, shooting at one another. Infantry units will be added later on, to give you something to machine gun down.

Crap game, another pay to win game, and it just grind grind and grind.... Megaten's grind is more enjoyable than this **BLEEPED**....
Also need premium account to afford playing with heavies, which you can only buy with gold, after release you wont receive free per day anymore, which is kinda stupid, my fav tank is the tiger and tiger II and i need to pay to use it....
Also casual players than don't pay for gold will have to grind like they never did before in any other game, to get a decent medium....
