Mythos was a nifty little game, but long has it been since I played the beta, and then, of course, it got yanked off the playing field.

Personally, playing dungeons always in isometric view starts to bore me pretty quickly. (I found Fate and Fate-like games became tedious pretty fast.) I also felt the graphics in Mythos were mediocre and that there was really no story depth to speak of.

It sounds, however, as though some or all of these issues are being addressed. I am definitely keeping an eye on this game. If Mythos were more like Dungeon Siege, I'd really love it. I have often wished someone -- someone! -- would make a Dungeon Siege-like MMO.

From what I remember, the crafting system was very rich.. Any item that dropped could be disassembled into it's core elements and reused in crafting.. It did away with the idea of needing to sell junk to a vendor.

..can't wait to see what else they've added.. closed beta NAO plz.

It's really good to see some activity regarding this game. I played Mythos back when Flagship was running their beta. Wow, that seems like forever ago.

I enjoyed it. I really liked the gameplay. Yes the graphics weren't cutting edge but they were good. They are a bit stylized and I like that. If they have improved the graphics at all then that's even better.

I agree that the main thing lacking was story, hopefully this will no longer be an issue since they are addressing it.

I say release it to beta here in NA for goodness sakes! It's time! It's been long enough! They need to start getting some real feedback here and get this sucker rolling.

Seconded!

I really sat up straight when I saw how WoW-like Mythos looked. It really doesn't look like a clicky clone, which is how I remember it before it got (I'm so about to say this) flagshipped. And all the goodies about the deep crafting system... that really sounds like a much more developed full MMO than I anticipated. I loooooove Diablo clones, but I am happy to see an MMOsy hybrid too. Do. Want. Moar!

This article contains no new information. Redbana has done next to nothing with this ip since aquiring it. They have provided little to no information since aquiring this ip. This interview provides no new information about this game. They answer questions about this game as though it were a new ip, yet that is not the case. Redbana is a joke of a company and they dont care about their english fans who have been unwaveringly faithful through all the side-shows theyve put on (facebook beta keys back in, what was it, february anyone? for example...). I strongly encourage the gaming public to disregard this 'interview' as no new information is available in it that wasnt already available 2 years ago. I love massively, it is a great site and this is one of the only times I can honestly say: Whatsup Massively?? you really tanked on this interview...

Hi mastafish,

What exactly would you have had me ask, that I didn't ask already, in the few questions I was allotted? The information I asked *for* was not already available; whether I got the information I asked for isn't up to me. I don't get follow up questions. I let their answers speak for themselves. I can't force them to answer my questions, nor force them to answer in a way that we might prefer. I certainly can't get questions answered which are, shall we say, as antagonistic as your post. :D

Hey Bree,

Ya sorry about that antagonism.. I was pretty drunk when I got home last night, lol.

I guess I was hoping we'd get concrete information on the game but what they've said in this interview is basically "yeah, we have the ip, we're dodging questions about the beta, we've made a few changes (aka translated the game into korean and taken the cigar out of the gremlins mouth)" Really they danced around your questions and didn't bring any new information up. Redbana is proving to be very untrustworthy...

I'm not here to tell you how to do your job so I do apologize.

I guess I'd like to make a request, next time you interview them could you please ask about the "facebook beta key event" they had back in, I think it was, February and why nothing came of that. Some information on why they are on their third or so Community Manager would be nice. Do they have a dedicated localization team or are they subcontracting this work out. Have they removed overworld and gone back to what Mythos was before it was added (with the map system). What age range are they shooting for (given audition seems to be a teeny-bop crowd) and will they be 'softening' (for lack of better words) the game in terms of blood/gore/violence/sexuality.

Of course there's always more questions but I fear we'll never get the answers anyways. I don't know why I care so much even.. as a former closed-beta player I guess I'm still holding on to the days when the old staff (now Runic) had grown Mythos into a vibrant, active community with awesome dev-community relationship, which sadly is something that has been non-existant since day 1 with Redbana.

Lol! Never post drunk! :P

They did suggest the (new-new) beta was just around the corner last month (these questions were originally sent to back when they relaunched their website and posted all those new screenshots... that was the context I had). It seemed like the game deserved "where have you been/what has changed" kinds of questions, after the delays and team changeovers.

Your questions are actually really detailed, and I definitely wish I'd been able to ask (and get) more, period. I hoped I would elicit a few of those (the map stuff, bringing us up to speed on the politics since the changeover especially) but I can understand why companies wouldn't want to talk about their troubles. And some stuff... well I think if it's not done yet, they just won't talk about it, and to some extent, I might grump about it, but I can't blame them for not wanting to open up prematurely.

Doesn't make it any less frustrating, for you guys or for me, I know. Especially when I really like the looks of the game and this genre specifically.
