Sometimes it's very helpful to hear what you're not getting. It's never particularly pleasant, of course -- we usually like to hear about the cool things coming right around the bend -- but it's also useful to be told what isn't coming for your favorite game. The most recent installment of Ask Cryptic for Champions Online falls under that category, with several questions about upcoming features given a straight denial. There are no plans for four-armed characters, rotating and scaling tattoos, and a current push for more persistent content as opposed to zone-wide attack events.
On the flip side, the answers do paint a few interesting pictures, such as talk about potentially adding a villainous counterpart to the game in the vein of City of Villains. The idea is discussed as something not in the immediate future, but on the list for future inclusion -- albeit with a much more sandbox style of gameplay, keeping in the vein of a supervillain romp. Champions Online is currently pretty well dedicated to getting its existing systems shored up and working well, however -- and while that might mean a few rejected ideas, it means that the team wants to build a solid foundation.

Really no huge surprises, 4 arm characters add a HUGE amount of work for animations (basically every animation in the game has to be redone), for a rather minor gain (not too high % of character concepts require 4 arms, and I doubt it would offer a mechanical advantage without basically everyone running around with 4 arms then). Rotating / scaling tattoos is engine work, even though STO does allow such, Reverse shoving it in the existing implementation would likely still take some work.
Persistent additions are just more logical than "attack" events since it allows something at all times, also any "event" will become less meaningful the more of such exist.

Hey Thac0 today is your lucky day! i actually have a full account i have been meaning to give away. (as in retail box, 30 days unlimited) and if you want we can work out the details.
To answer your question. The character customization as far as powers and such go is really deep and interesting. A lot of the content feels "meh" as its just quest grind and you have a hard time feeling invested in the character at some points. However when you find a decent group for dungeons it can be pretty fun. And the difficulty slider lets you choose to set things to "not mind numbingly easy to plow through"

This is not the type of article that champions needs. They should be toting what TO expect, not what is NOT TO BE expected.
The game sinks down even further. :( So sad.
