Mr Angry - "You want the beta invite, it's yours, the game just isn't fun.", "...then we have a whole new build to test just prior to launch, what a waste of my time."

I would very much like to try the beta phase as I have been looking forward to the game and you clearly don't fancy the current condition it is in. As the beta is tied to your square-enix account, you could create a temporary password for me to access and form my own opinion over a few play sessions. I just want to give it a go for myself, nothing permanent. Unless of course you were just blowing smoke and acting like you didn't care for dramatization purposes...
Email me at hookmeupwith14@gmail.com to discuss details or to let me know you were bluffing.
Thanks

This is one of those games that will have to really impress me before I buy it because you almost need to upgrade your entire system to enjoy. My system is only 1 year old and it gave me a benchmark of something like 3100..

I think a trial or beta is in order to test the waters.

3100 is high enough to get 50+ FPS.. I got a 2900 and got 45-60+ FPS through the entire benchmark . Try fraps.

The benchmark was a stupid move on SE's part. Keep in mind the graphical settings (such as the resolution...) will be adjustable. The benchmark sucks and has only served to turn people away from the game.

You'll be totally fine with a score of 3100.

Meanwhile, someone who isn't me has indicated that SE's downloader is reminiscent of playonline 2004. aka- slower than dial up circa "Internet in a Box"

I've been looking forward to this guy too... See you in the early start Arkanaloth! As for the benchmark, look back at the one for XI it was similar in that it was a horrible guide as to the playability of the actual game. My rig is over 1 yr old and I'll be fine with this one. I find it hard to believe that XIV will be more of a resource pig than Crysis at max settings.

Not much else I can say, I loved XI. The graphics make it unplayable for me anymore. This one will fill the hole for a few months at least. And for me I can't ask for much more from a game.

Mr Angry:
"I'm not saying you are not qualified to talk, but I've had easily 12 hours game time and a lot of what you have explained is conjecture and fanboi posturing"

12 hours in 10 percent of the game with an incomplete clientt. And if you really don't believe the devs why the hell did you even bother applying for the beta? If you lack so much respect for the beta phase do the mmo developing world a huge favor and never do so again. Beta is not for your gratification or to prove to you that the game is worth your time.

*shakes head*

I applied for beta before there was any information on alpha or beta, so wasn't informed of what was going to happen and at what stage. That's 'why the hell' I applied for beta, because I enjoyed the previous FF game, and this new FF game is not fun. I don't think you thought that part of your response through, you've offered a straw man argument...

I'm currently part of beta in 3 games, one a huge AAA title and it's far and beyond the FFXIV experience, it really puts it to shame, beta release or not.

Also, there is no need to be aggressive because we have different opinions, or because you've not experienced the game, your responses are normally a lot more informed and measured than this, this is just sour grapes on your part and out of character.

As for "12 hours in 10 percent of the game with an incomplete client", it's released in under 3 months time, my my, that's a mountain to climb for a AAA MMO, I already stated my concerns on this, you've paraphrased my response for dramatic effect, but left most of the meat on the bone.

I have given the dev's a lot of slack over the alpha period, but I'm not going to tell them their p**p doesn't stink, and this is a public forum to talk about games, so I don't think I have to 'show respect' for anything here, I'll offer my opinion.

Respect is a word used far too much, you earn respect, this game is far from where it needs to be. I signed up to test the game, I've offered over 50 opinions and bugs to the developers, but the sheer level of work to do is overwhelming, then we have a whole new build to test just prior to launch, what a waste of my time. The testing has been handled very poorly.

I don't remember ever asking for your opinion on this to be fair, so shake your head all you want, stamp your feet and rage on the comments. What they will release will be an unfinished game with many design flaws due to being pushed out the door.

If you have feedback on your experiences, why not go ahead and share them, rather than regurgitate rumour?

If you want to do the MMO world a big favour, how about you stop telling people how to act and go ahead and offer your own opinion, then learn to hit the reply button when responding to posts. If you still have a major problem with me after reading this, speak to me the message rooms, thanks.

You posted you get opinions,so yes you did ask for it. ;)
Having concerns is one thing and saying: " You know I have many concerns with this beta" I don't have issues with, but stating what you have said and not implying the whole is what I have a problem with.

You're calling me aggressive, go back and read your own posts. I would not say something like that about a beta I was in until the open beta came along or the game launched even if I personally thought the game wouldn't make it, on a public site. As I said to me that lacks respect for the developer no matter who they are, small, medium or big as a company.

FYI I could not reply directly to your post, it was faded out. And secondly thanks for submitting reports!

Considering how many people have broken it and the media has even participated, I don't think anyone cares. >.>
