Would you like some cheese with that whine? With maybe one exception I can think of, the Automated Defense Battery, there isn't anything on there that isn't (a) cosmetic and also (b) largely useless or irrelevant to gameplay and also (c) stuff that's supposed to be rare, in canon.

Take the latest daily whine, the Galaxy-X experimental heavy cruiser. In canon, it's an intermittent step between the Galaxy class and the tier 5 cruisers, and there should only have been a couple of them. In game, it's a tier 4 cruiser with one nearly impossible to aim extra gun and a cloak, neither one of which are easy to get any use out of on something as unmaneuverable as a cruiser, both of which are easily countered, and you out-level it long before the end-game. The only reason to want a Galaxy-X is if you're Ensign Mary Sue, and have to be the one most special and unique character in the game during the time you're leveling from 31 through 40. And you know what? I'm just okay with there being a tax on that.

I really have no clue what you're crying in the fetal position about. =P

The point of my comment was to say that instead of developing actual content, they'll be focusing most of their time and man hours on developing more useless cosmetic items for their stupid nickel & dime shop, instead of developing features and content the game has been lacking since its launch. Sure they're about to finally release a big update, but most of that update is stuff most were expecting to be in at launch.

If they put in half the effort as they do in creating store items, their game might be in a semi playable state and worth playing longer than 6 weeks.

"Crying in the fetal position"?

Brad countered melodrama with facts, and you didn't like it. Your attempt to turn things back on him with a completely non-sequitur insult only damages any credibility you may have been trying to project.

Classic case of "You can dish it out, but you can't take it".

LOL What facts? He read my comment and assumed I was upset that Cryptic sells better items on their store and whined about a Defense Battery, a Mary Sue, and a Galaxy X and whatever else he was trying to bring up that made no sense. I could care less what they sell on the actual store and would rather have seen them spend all that store time developing important stuff that the game was launched without, fix the meaningless PvP, or completely delete and redo their lazily developed sector space they rushed to design. Those 2 and a half months they spent creating art for a furry fetish species, could have been spent giving Klingon faction characters that customization art it was lacking at launch. All those ship skins they created for the store, that's time that could have been spent giving Klingon's more ship choices to bring them closer in line with the Federation side.

Nice classic case of "armchair psychology" though. ; ) Jumping on one person for calling someone a "whiner", but overlooking the other person doing it, just damages any credibility and intelligence you may have been trying to project.

CCon99 is win. The "xoxo" was priceless. Aside from that though all his points were valid. Developing C-Store vs Actual game is ludicrous.

Yep, you caught me. I always buy items for a game that isn't worth subbing to.

KHAN!! ....Er...I Mean....Ccon!!! There we go. Hey, if you don't like the game, you have a choice. That is to simply not play it. TROLLING on a gaming website is not going to do anything but show your posterior. Spend your time more wisely.

That's cute, I like that! =)

As for trolling, just because someone doesn't share your opinion doesn't make it trolling. The term trolling comes from a fishing technique where they drag bait behind the boat, waiting for a fish to strike it. Trolling here would be someone posting "All STO players just play for bridge cybers" then wait for the people to take the bait, start taking the comment serious, and then flaming away in defense.

Hey Benfold, it isn't trolling if he is being legitimate and describing FACTUAL events.

I agree with CCon99 completely. Even with the expanded Klingon content coming, where are more ships for them? Yet the damn Cash Shop gets things added constantly. More focus needs to be put into the things that were promised before launch. The game is truely a disaster. I will not play it until Klingons are a fully fleshed out part of the game. Them looking to add a 3rd faction before they finish the 2nd is insane.

Well I found out how to get rid of trolls...remove the comment section. Seriously you guys gonna beat a dead horse...I mean tribble back to life again. Maybe that was your intent but anyway get a life and play something you like. Cryptic is not forcing anyone to buy anything and making content that people blaze thru and squashing bugs is a dreadful task. If you think its so easy but in an application to work for them or start your own mmo. Show them how to do it...lol

It *is* utterly pathetic, isn't it? They even go so far as to down-vote any positive comments while voting up all their hate and vitriol. I mean, why do they even click on the article?

I used to run a Greasemonkey script that would filter crap posts from users like CCon99 and Kdolo, but I think I *will* do as you suggest and remove Massively's comment section from my view entirely.

You win, trolls. Now vote me down to oblivion.
