My best MMO achievement... Probably getting the skills for T2 large railguns in EVE, which also marks me having full upper and lower T2 battleship fit. Followed closely by getting my Navythron, not a huge achievement, but something big for me.

In EVE Online, acquiring all the skills needed to fly a Hulk, an Iteron V, and a Dominix droneboat. The Hulk was an achievement especially, since it requires several skills on level 5, which takes ages.

We really do need to take a moment and thank God for the blessings we have here in America on this Independence Day.

I don't believe the writer meant this as a jingo'ist piece, clarioncaller. Althouth I do agree that the Declaration of Independence was one of the best defining moments for the evolution of democracy (and I am saying this even though I'm not an American). Though amazingly, and maybe unfortunately for you, it was also one the best defining moments separation of church and state as well. Just saying... :)

(And Krystalle ...please don't punt me on this. I am pointing this out in the politest of ways. :( )

Hah, yea, I love the lotro achievement to see how far you can get without dying, just wish it went further than lvl 20. That's a real achievement, puts all the lifesucking/boring/meaningless achievements of wow to shame

My greatest achievement has been split between two MMOs so far. The first is in Eve online getting Amarr carrier 5. Oh the lols you can have launching the maximum amount of fighters or warrior IIs on someone..

My second greatest achievement came as a one week old noob playing Planet Calypso and getting a 1200+ ped value mining find :D That made my month.

I always liked Hellgate: London's achievements, such as the one to kill Sydonai (the final boss) with a cricket bat and the "I hate crates" achievement to destroy a certain number (1000 I think) of breakable items.

Other than that, what America is celebrating is pretty cool; I don't know any other country that celebrates the day they got attacked by UFOs.

Back in the day in Asheron's Call, it was when I got Aerlinth Recall. I was on the PVP server, and the power was incredible. Instant access to all the best hunting and loot, and when I killed other people I set them up for a 30 minute run at minimum to make it back. For me, just one click and POP, there I was.

Finally hitting 70 on my hunter back in Vanilla WoW. Took me over a year of on and off play. I guess that was back before sanctioned achievements existed. First time I'd ever hit level cap in a game really.

Then just all the 1v3+ PvP situations. Every single one of those felt awesome.

Lol 70 in vanilla? Either you made a typo or you consider BC to be vanilla (which it is not).

For me, running the 2nd most progressed raid guild on my server during BC, coming from nothing to big shit in only a couple of months and the fun times I had with my friends and guildmates during those times. Tell you one thing though - I'd never EVER do it again! Too much damn work, that shit took over my life for a little bit there.

Despite not having played WoW in over a year some of my personal achievements in gaming took place on Azeroth. It was the first game I played a character to max level, the first where I took up raid lead, main tank, and guild lead (none by choice, 'twas thrust upon me) all at the same time and successfully lead to the guild's first raid completion.

In every game I play, every MMO at least, there are myriad achievements I set for myself. Some of them are just... retarded. Some of them may actually be pretty epic. All of them are goals I set for myself that rarely if ever involve an in game system.

Achievements like those in WoW primarily served not as a way to show off to others but as a way to track how close I was to a goal that both I and the developer thought was nifty.

My personal best is acquiring the item "Maat's Cap" in Final Fantasy XI. I had to level at least 14 jobs to Lv.65 AND defeat the training/sparring opponent Maat with each. Some were easier than others, but all the grinding and searching for the testimonies required for each battle was crazy.

Accomplished Angler!! http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1516

Yep. I've got an obsession with fishing in WoW. Had one, anyway. My final screen shot was of my main sitting in the Fishing Chair with Mr. Pinchy at my side off the shore of Tanaris. Of all the achievements you can get in the game, I was happy to see that they never made this one "easier" to get.

In SWG, unlocking my jedi before Publish 9 (the Jedi Revamp) after grinding through 13 professions! Definitely a memorable event since Jedi were the alpha class at the time.

I had two achievements back in Swg that I still hold dear to my heart. Finishing the moisture farmer quest for a self resurrection ring. The npc you had to kill had a roaming area for the planet map. My whole guild had to spread to find him took like 5 hours. Majority of ppl never finish that quest.

Second one was rescue the commander part of Jedi quest line. You had to kill random npcs on the planet who dropped door remotes to access look out points. Unfortunately there was like 20 on the planet and u had to find the right lookout that matched the remote u looted. No waypoints on map just good old searching. 100 people in global chat yelling out wps priceless. After getting the commander you had to walk him back to the village and had to stay close so he wouldn't commit suicide. Walk alone 1 hour back. Priceless
