This was actually not the first time I had played Sacred Seasons 2, but as I only was level 2 or 3 from that brief stint it was almost like starting fresh. I rolled with a fall hunter and got on my way.

The combat was actually pretty good for a turn-based title, with a decently brisk pace. I didn't get to spend much time grouped up with other players, but it seemed like it could have been fun running through some dungeons or fighting bosses with others.

The skills I had seemed to be relatively useless. Reducing my opponent's agility by 20%, which was like 1-2 points, was a waste of a turn compared to just shooting them with my bow for a decent chunk of damage. Maybe more useful skills show up later on, or maybe they are more useful in longer battles with bosses.

There were a few times where I encountered glitchy things, like the game not recognizing that I had defeated the right group of enemies for a quest. On another occasion I left a battle and seemed to be stuck in place, unable to move around. I had to relog to fix it - annoying, but not the biggest deal in the world.

It's a pretty lightweight game, but I still had fun while I was playing. The verdict? Obviously the HDD question is not applicable as you've pointed out, but I think I'll log in again at some point to check it out some more. I don't ever see this taking up a significant portion of my time in the future, but it's good enough that it can stay on my plate as something to check out if I need to kill a little time.

Look forward to this article every week. Fantastic!

Not sure I'll join in for the side scroller but anxious to see the article about it.

The game really is beautiful in this hand drawn way you don't often see. You also can train up different classes, some of them are hidden in how you get them through secret ways in the game, others are straight out (buying them from Item Shop).

I also can't wait for "soon" tho, as I want to see these extra jobs and things they are going to add.

Sacred Seasons 2 is a real fun game when you meet other people. The story was pretty decent and the music was awesome. It definitely was a fun game to play and the main story could be completed in about 50 hours.

The drawback had to be when it came to the gold system. They give you 100g and 1 - 3g upon log-in each day. All weapons above level 10 require at least 100g. Changing your character (even if a class is unlocked later) required at least 100g. What you choose to begin with is what you will be stuck with unless you use cash to buy in-game gold. Complex quests didn't help either. You would get a quest that you couldn't complete until you did 20 other quests. There were a lot of lost people asking questions.

Skills at level 30 and 50 usually defines your class and helps out a ton. It is too bad a lot of things are still missing in this game.

While I can't say anything about Sacred Seasons 2, I have played Adventure Quest (and still play it occasionally), the single player graphical MUD that precedes Adventure Quest Worlds. Looking forward to the next Rise and Shiny edition, even though I don't expect much from the game.

Yeah, the game is pretty decent looking and it wasn't bad at all. But I couldn't let myself get into it too much becuase it really seemed to be pushing you towards spending money on it. I can accept that, for a game that is a bit of a fuller experience than this one is. As mentioned above, you basically are forced to use the cash shop to get a decent weapon. I got to level 11 on a hunter and still couldn't get a bow, and wouldn't unless i logged in every day for another month >< I felt very silly to be an advancing hunter forced to melee with my hands through the early part of the game.

Thanks for the comments, guys. AQworlds is a side-scroller, but doesn't really feel that way so far. I'm enjoying how clever they are in their design.

I'm not sure how grouping works, so holler if you're in game this week, especially Tuesday or Friday night.

And remember, any suggestions for game: let me know! Email me at beau at massively dot com, or suggest away here! The smaller, weirder or more unique, the better!

RA: Thanks, I might be on then. Being that I work from home, I can probably be on a bit early. I'll add ya when I get in, although I am not clear on if that is possible without the other person or not?

Beau,
It is not possible to add anyone without them also being online.
Are you available right now to do this?
I am available all this week actually with the exception of thursday and sunday.
