Try Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer free for 10 days

The Age of Conan expansion Rise of the Godslayer has been out for a while now, and if you're a former player who hasn't tried it yet, Funcom is eager for you to take a look.

Everyone likes free stuff, so how about 10 free days of Rise of the Godslayer? From now until July 15th, former Age of Conan subscribers are invited to download and play the expansion at no cost for ten days. Of course, Funcom hopes you'll enjoy it enough to buy it, and there is a little bonus if you do just that. If you purchase on or before July 15th, you'll receive the "Tortage Survival pack," a bundle of goodies that includes a pile of starter weapons and ten double-XP potions.

The expansion's trial is available for download now, and newcomers to the game are always welcome to check out the trial of the full game, available on the Age of Conan site.

Wait what? Are you really that rude? If funcom goes under, people will lose their jobs. I don't know the size of funcom, but I'd speculate several hundreds of people could be out of a job, possibly thousands?

And let's not forget the people who play the game and call it their home. Those people will be forced to adapt to a new game, splitting their core community, possibly separating them from friends they've made.

So what, you didn't like AoC, I never played it. You're just a mean, vulgar person who needs to grow up and understand that there are consequences in life.

Mind you, there is nothing in this article showing that the company is struggling, I'm just addressing the comment directly.

LOL, when someone promisses something and give some proof of it and you buy it and then when you gonna see it you got completly the diffrent thing, and after that they promisse to fix that things and you wait 1 year using that thing hoping that it will be fixed, after that they finally say: this thing is almost fixed and you gonna get new "gadgets" on it! and at the end it gives even more *Sera-ed*, do you say "awwww so sweet, i wanna you to prosper in your sales!"

I'm hoping English isn't your first language. By your logic, World of Warcraft is "dying" because they offer a free trial.

By all accounts, Funcom (and Age of Conan) are doing just fine.

I dont really have to bother anymore - the game is taking care of it on its own.

Pretty typical 1 month hype around an expansion - then back to same numbers as before. Problem this time is that there is around two years to next expansion... maybe even 3.... Or maybe... Never ?

Who knows... Im just trying to get my EU WAR account working on the Mythic servers... Now Im just waiting to be charged from both sides.... Would be pretty typical of this genre.... Its worse than the porn sites now.

Actually, you gave opinion without any clear, defined facts.

If you wish to elaborate and post some facts, maybe others would be in agreement with you. However, your immature attempts at sarcasm and hate have left you nothing but rebuttals.

Anyways, I'm going to give it another try. I've always enjoyed AoC over the years, but have stuck with whatever my friends are playing at the time. It will be good to see the changes Funcom has made.

why would i try the weaker version of wow ?

Its combat is its best feature.

If you are a mmo gamer and you haven't at least tried AoC then you are not a mmo gamer.

But I just can't go back myself.
Maybe its because I finished the game and I can't make peace with the mistakes in its game design.

Don't worry though, you won't notice the "mistakes" untill you have a few months played;

1) AoC graphics are truly marvellous and the attention to detail is quite immersive.

2) the world is well imagined. Having the Howard source material provides a strong foundation for the gritty, evil, low-magic world.

3) combat system is fun and some player classes are quite original.
