WAR40K sounds really ominous.

In other words they are making a WoW clone and are banking on the Warhammer 40k fans to switch over rather than banking on solid gameplay?

Any game banking on success from copying another game usually equates to me not liking said copycat.

Nooooooo! Don't make this another WoW-type "dumbed-down for the masses" game! You can easily hit 1 million players if you were to make it unique and revolutionary, and introduce something new and exciting to the market. So sad...

So in three years they will make a game better than a game that came out 5 year ago.

The problem is that most WoW clones are clones in appearance only. They lack the depth of content, the frequent updates, and the user-friendly design that are what really make WoW the market leader.

I'm fine with him wanting to clone WoW. The question is, will the cloning process be more than skin deep?

Exactly.
The latest MMORPGs don't suck because are WoW clones, they suck because, well... they suck!
Any WoW clone "polished" enough would have a good success.

But it seems that bashing WoW is cool: if one should have to guess the number of players Blizzard has only by reading these forums, one could think that nobody is playing WoW at all because it's the worst game ever produced...

Frequent updates in WoW, you're kidding right?

anyway....

Didn't Mark Jacobs says the same thing about Warhammer, that they just wanted 1 million subscribers?

I agree with you Niko IMHO all this elitist "I think im cool because I hate warcraft" crap is getting old and stagnant.

Yeah, you shouldn't be getting anywhere near 200 FPS frame rates really. Turn on Vertical Sync and lower your refresh rate and your problem is solved.

That's not Blizzard's problem, it's your problem.

This is very out of character for THQ.

I agree. I'm wondering if the THQ team working on the MMO is different than the team that worked on the Dawn of War series? There seems to be a disconnect in values between the two products.

Sucking up to the WoW fans isn't going to snag the WH40K fans.

If you want to tell THQ what you think then go here.
