"It means that we're stuck with the jobs we have, and we're not likely to see any more large zones" This simply can not be the case here.

If anything has been proven over the course of the first 5 days after the level cap raise its that there is an extreme need for new leveling areas. Back in the day there were 2-3 zones to gain experience in per 5-10 levels. Now we are stuck in the same places we got to 75 with to get to 80. Sure they added a few good camps and a few mediocre camps in existing zones, it will never be enough to get people the next 19 levels. The Abyssea and Walk of Echos zones are timed and not conducive to extensive gains of experience.

A lot of people were hoping that Abyssea would be 3 or more new full explorable experience zones. Unfortunately we got yet another pseudo Dynamis/Limbus timed zone that while it does offer experience is limited to 2 hours every 4 days.

Considering all the new leveling areas we've seen so far are re-purposed CoP areas, part of me thinks they'll just re-purpose other widely unused zones for further level increases.

I do believe their needs to be new areas without time restrictions, especially when the cap increases. However at this point, i'm not holding my breath for them.

I would seriously hope not. That being said I would not mind if we saw present and past zones brought into the opposite time frame. There is a lot of other potential zones that could be added to the game with VERY little reworking on the part of SE that would expand the game world without really expanding it.

Even with Abyssea-Mea/Dem/Holla being added we could see Tahrongi/LaTheine/Kon (S). We could also see other zones like Altepa (S) and Zitah(S). While those Zilart added zones werent a part of the war they were around, they could be added to the current list of "Fronts". You also have Lufaise and Miseraux (S) or even god-forbid a real Tavnasia.(S).

Toss in Fort K, Vunkerl and Grauberg could be ported into present day (they really need to be) and you have quite a few new areas that could be "left in ruins" from the war and filled with mobs high enough to help people reach the cap.

Adding more 80+ camps without adding new zones is going to be an exercise is futility as you just make a bunch of non aggressive monsters in a lowbie area or repurpose the "end" of existing high level zones. The current game population does not support using level sync as a primary means of gaining experience.

So that Elezen photo, right there, is exactly how I want my first FFXIV character to look. EXACTLY. Like, to a T.

Is that why you put that photo there, Eliot? :D
