Play it safe. Stay inside. Save big. So sayeth Steam during their Perils of Summer sale. While we assume the exhortations to stay inside and avoid the big yellow thing in the sky is a joke, there's no denying that there are some great prices to be had on MMOs.
The sale is on now and runs through July 4th, and offers range from 33% to 66% off of standard prices. 13 MMOs are up for grabs, including Champions Online for $6.79, the Guild Wars Trilogy for $26.79, and the suddenly subscription-free Global Agenda for $26.79. Two editions each of both City of Heroes and Star Trek Online are also on sale, as well as several others.
Check out Steam for the full list.

They will probably get double discounted eventually.
They did that on the last big Steam sale.

Does Champions come with a month free?
I wish they had an offline app for the character creator. I'd totally buy that.

But do they come with a free month? It didn't look like it on their pages.
If they do I'm thinking about picking up STO and Global Agenda.

Any game in this offer still comes with the free month. That's kinda standard with the box price.

would be really nice if you could edit your own comments.
Anyway, steam's sales are always nice. They just had one for a whole week for ea games. Grabbed bad company 2 which was a total mistake, the game is crap and I regret the purchase so much. I'd rather have gotten borderlands but it wasn't on sale. Now it is.
They are having daily specials too apparently, keep checking back.

The MMO's are definitely not worth it, but the other deals are great.
I picked up the Overlord package (all 3 games) for $4.50. Ridiculously good price.

Same here, I've been wanting to buy the Overlord games but just never got around to it. $4.50 took care of that for me.
'Freedom Force' and 'FF vs. The 3rd Reich' are only $5.61 for both of them (I bought the boxed versions long ago)
Ghost Master for 95 cents! King's Bounty Gold (both games) for $9.99. Great deals, if I didn't already own them.
Aion was only $20 for the first day and the Cryptic games are pretty cheap, at least CO. But the Guild Wars prices aren't that great.

I seriously need your help guys. I am currently experiencing the biggest MMO drought ever. I reeeeeeeally want a game to dig into and spend alot of time in and my most recent ( WoW ) just didn't do it. So these are the ones I'm thinking of at the moment:
Mortal Online
STO
LotRO
Can anyone give me some feedback on what to choose etc? Is Mortal Online any good?

Mortal Online - Haven't played, supposedly "old-school" sandbox style
STO - space and ground combat, some aspects still overly simplistic
LotRO - WoW in Middle-Earth, slightly better crafting.
It really depends on what you want from an MMO, STO is fun to log on and phase some people and not have a huge time sink, I imagine Mortal shall be the exact opposite of that.

I never played MO but if you are interested in the Star Trek Universe then try out STO, can't beat the current price on Steam. But be warn: Its still buggy and ground combat is weak. But on the plus side of things, ship combat is top notch though and its a bit fun. Once again, get it for the Steam sale price, nothing more then that.
