Will we ever get the MMORPG genre back? Or is it gone forever?

Probably gone forever. Make way for the massively multiplayer online action game!(or MMOAG for short) ;D

Love the look of this. Can't wait to give it a shot.

And I'm open to whatever MMO they wanna try, especially if it's free to play. Nothing to lose but time.

Happy you guys are covering this too, I saw the previous post on Nexon and though you guys were more interested in Vinductus (sp?) then this game.

Was afraid when I started reading when you compared the game to DFO, but then read further and realized you were talking about the action part of it, which is nice DFO is very nice when it comes to combat with things like 100 hit combos.

The pick up does sound like it could use a change, maybe they shoudl adapt something more like Luna online has, with autoloot. The poison apple while a great idea does sound a bit of a let down.I would think if they change it to a moster spawn item that spawn a random, maybe stronger monster for X time and which can poison/blind/etc you, would be much better, especially if it gives a nice bonus when defeated.

Because then you would have a risk and reward minigame with items, if you are strong enough you will be able to beat the spawn and get Cool Shiny Sword of X or your attack is increased by a million for five minutes and maybe a debuff if you were unable to defeat the spawn before the time limit (at which point he would disapear) and you were near the spawn at the end of the time limit.

2011 is so far away, i hope they have a beta at the start of Q4 this year, or something because that is a pretty long time to wait, without any info.

Something I noticed after checking out a variety of videos for Dragon Nest and Vindictus, they both allow characters to kick monsters that have fallen down and are possibly even already defeated, from what I can see. Not sure if this is skill related or emote, but that is the first time I can remember seeing that happen in any game. Weird.

You can try this game now. theres a demo version (japanese) which is standalone and does not require a internet connection. it allows you to try all 4 characters (locked at lvl 16) and run thru 2 dungeons..just look for it, dunno if you are allowed to post links here.

I really like DFO as an action button-masher, so I'll definitely give Dragon's Nest a shot.
