I feel that Vigil have nailed the art style. I really enjoyed there other game dark siders (brillant zelda clone). I would be quietly confident about this. I hope its more shooter than rpg.

People really just need to shut up going on about WAR. The only link between this two games is the fact that the IP's both belong to Games Workshop.

It is getting quite old now and very stupid.

Color me disappointed. Hearing that the game (from other articles like: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=186373) is SPECIFICALLY NOT GOING TO BE A FPS AT ALL has effectively killed any and all interest I had in this game. It's going to be another, click to attack, go to an instance to fight, time-sink-will-get-you-what-you-want RPG-style game that focuses on looks instead of gameplay. Do you remember Tablua Rasa? No? That's because it was a terrible game that pretended to be a shooting game, only it wasn't. It seems to be the base on which they're building WH40KDM, only making it 'pretty'. I don't know about you guys/gals, but I'd rather have an amazing game with Quake 1 quality graphics than a game that's pretty but terrible.
They've taken the game in exactly the OPPOSITE direction that Planetside was going in during it's heyday, and thus sounded it's death knell before the thing even got rolling.
How the hell do you explain taking a massive futuristic warzone and making it NOT a shooting game?

That article didnt say anything about the combat system other than cover and suppressive fire. You're making up a ton of assumptions based on an over 2 year old article, which doesn't say a lot of what you claim it says. If you're going to link to something link to something relevant.

Is it bad that I watched this trailer 10 times? I never thought I would say this, but this trailer peaked my interest a lot.

Im fine with the game as long as it has no quests and instances.

It's a PvP game, everything needs to be player-driven.

My dreams of playing as a Lictor look like they will remain unrealized.

No Tyranids at all? =(

That looks superbly awesome - just after that one vid I'm now more excited about this game than SW:TOR and even GW2.

It looks like they've totally nailed the graphics and animation - I just hope the combat leans more towards MMOFPS than the usual MMORPG gameplay, it certainly looked to have a decent enough pace in that vid - and I hope that progression is more horizontal (like Planetside) than a vertical grind (like WoW).

Lets hope there are loads of factions as well - the 3-way fights in Planetside and DAoC were far more interesting than the 2-faction warfare in most MMOs (like WoW, WAR, early EQ2, etc.) - with 3+ sides you get far more unpredictability and much fresher PvP as a result.

I saw Imperial Marines, Imperial Guard and a Tech-Priest in that vid for the Imperium (hopefully they get Battle Sisters too, as a female alternative to Marines - no probs with IG & Tech-Priests as both genders can be those in the lore), but also Orks and Chaos (Chaos Marines, Cultists, Daemons, and what looked like a Chaos Sorcerer at one point). I hope Eldar are playable too, if not at launch then with the first expansion (Eldar would work marvellously in an MMO - their "paths" system from the lore would be perfect for being able to switch to a different Warrior Aspect or to be a Warlock/Farseer or Guardian, all on the same character at different times). Necrons and Tyranids probably suit being NPCs for PvE rather than playable though.

I hope Titans/Gargants are controllable too, but maybe that's hoping for too much.

2012 can't come soon enough.

Heck yeah, I'm looking forward to getting my Chaos on, especially if they let you play from any of the four gods. Definitely saw some World Eaters in there, so even if it's just Khorne, that's awesome.
Curious which of the Inquisition branches that was.

Okay, here's my opinion on how the game works, looking at this trailer:

There will be very little if any character customisation - all the races seen here had a very specific colour code to tell who was on who's team on the battlefield (Marines-Space Wolves, IG-Cadia, Chaos-World Eaters, Orks-Bad Moonz)

While you can select different powers similar to a quest-MMO (the hotbar), but it is played as a 3rd-person shooter.

There will likely be quests (at 0:40, the target is named 'Festering Cultist', and NPCs normally mean quests)

It is based around playing in small units (on the hotbar, there is a section with slot that appear to be showing party members)

how exactly the vehicles come about I'm not sure, (bought or spawned), but if everything including the warhound are useable by players, there'll be some sort of even-matching system if it's bought, or activated via mini-tasks in-battle to spawn or the like.

This looks good however they said on the online site about Order Vs Destruction. I cant help but wonder if this will be the same crap as Warhammer online.? For starters if they were true fans of this and i'm sure there are many others that would agree that humans will only side with other humans not with Eldar, tau, or any alien race. and same goes with the Orks they will kill anyone in their way even each other, and chaos perhaps for a greater plan but no alliance even the tyranids they kill all before them come on on this is total BS i'm sick to death of a two sided view. its the same old thing like WOW has horde vs alliance WAR has order and destruction. sorry but if this is the case i'm not supporting this BS

It looks awesome also from what i have seen you have to aim shoot people not click them you see that at 0:39-0:40 you see that there you have to aim & that space marine also has level which you see there. Also what i would like is that is that every faction is for herself even because Imperium of man is highly xenophobic & trusts none but humans.

I highly hope it is not just click & play like others MMORPG .

Also will be eldar sniper or harlequin if they make them
