WAR was built with Gamebryo tech, 40K is based on Vigil's own in-house game engine.

OK, the titan was a different make from my time on the 'lines over 20 years ago, and the marines use that "newer" style of armor, but the Dreads looks AWESOME and the vehicles look sweet.

Will guilds get titans?! A fan can only dream...

Oh yes, do not forget the Order of Coolness and KickButtlery list, arranged in order of Who Shall Kick The Mosteth Buttocks:

1) Space Marines
2) Orks
3) The Janitor
4) Eldar

Thank you.

The titan looked fairly much like the newer design of the warhound to me. I much prefer the original design, but ho-hum, I guess it was pretty inevitable that they would go with the most recent iterations. Shame, I would love to see a pre-tyranid absorption old-school genestealer cult.

Design-wise, though, this looks pretty must spot on with the current version of models. Which is cool. I get a 40K feeling from this much more than I ever got a Warhammer feeling from WAR.

Revolting: Yeh, one of my main issues with WAR was that it didn't really feel "dark" enough, but is it me or does this trailer seem to fit the "feel" of the tabletop more, so it doesn't need to be as dark and can still feel..."proper"?

Does that make sense? haha

Yeah, that makes perfect sense; I feel the same way. WAR always felt like a game "inspired by" Warhammer, whereas this feels much more like WH40K itself rather than just using the source material as a design guide. Obviously how true that holds up to be will depend largely on the mechanics - especially with regard to grouping and battles (be they pve or pvp), but at face value the looks alone are so much more spot on than WAR, even though WAR ticked all the right boxes in theory.

I think a lot of it has to do with the design values - WAR tried to base itself on the art of Warhammer, all gritty, hard edged and "real", and as a result had the right look for the world the game was set in, but not the Warhammer game itself. Whereas this game is slighlty stylized, with bulky armour, slightly distorted proportions, and so on, which in turn makes it look much more like the tabletop game's models, which have the same design values. Just as the kind of cartoony look of WoW worked for a Warcraft game more than a gritty, realistic look would have, this works for Games Workshop's properties much more than WAR's attempt.

My thoughts exactly. If it's quest based, no thank you.

Looks incredible, puts Mythic's Warhammer effort to shame in the graphics and animation department.

I had to watch it twice, but the UI that pops up at the 40 second mark or so? It's not actually in-game, it's just an overlay to make it look like it is. That's a shame, because a game trailer without gameplay footage is like a ginsu knife commercial where they don't cut anything. Still, it looks like a good start! It'll be fun to see how it turns out.

Yup, it does seem like it might be an overlay, however it could just be overlain on the rest of the footage. If you notice the mini map, when it's present, his position on it does change.

Either way, as a concept it likely is what they are going for -- which can give hints as to what the gameplay may be like. A reticle for aiming and shooter controls, hotbar for abilities/items -- I'm thinking it may control fairly similarly to Global Agenda. Can't wait to see if they go class based or skill based. (I'm thinking class based. If this has been mentioned previously, I wasn't aware.)

I liked the textures and details on the armor. I am so glad this is in the hands of THQ who have made some killer games. The vehicles looked great. And they can fly! I am rooting for this game. And most of all they said they are not the wow killer which means they dont care about wow and will do their own thing. Finally.

I'll consider it if it's not $60+$15/month. It looks pretty, but that doesn't mean anything, really.

It's likely that this and Guild Wars 2 will be out near each other (9-12 months?), which doesn't bode well.

That's funny because I'll only consider if it's an proper P2P mmo and not some F2P item store nickel and dime screwfest.
