So they promote grouping and adventuring with 4 to 5 people. So.... Guild Wars?

They already said there will be raids like other games which will have more then 4-5 people.

Personally I would prefer small groups because anyone who has raided in wow or other games knows it only takes 2-3 terrible people in a 25 man raid to ruin it for the other 20+. With these smaller groups you can just form a pug and do these runs and if someone is bad or terrible it would be easy to see who it was and get a quick replacement instead of spending the better half of your night trying to fill your raid like any pug raid in wow. Guild raids are obviously different.

The other thing is the storytelling will be better with smaller groups getting everyone in on the dialogue cut scenes and each having their own part and choices. It appears they are catering to the big raid addicts from wow and the people who prefer the more personal experience with small mans and accessibility of small quick to form groups.

Oh yeah, for raids and instances, of course there will be bigger numbers, and 4 or 5 are great for an instance.

But they said they will push ADVENTURING with smaller groups. My big issue is that. They said that the adventuring will be pushed with those 4 or 5 person groups, I got that as Guild Wars like stuff.

I'm pretty sure they will try to push the smaller groups because it will make it a more personal experience when everyone gets their say in the storytelling and dialogue choices. It is easy to lose immersion when you are on a 25 man raid with the game volume turned off and you are in ventrillo listening to people 12-40 years old chatting it up.

I think that is a big thing that MMOs are missing and that is a reason to keep your game volume turned on and actually listen to what going on instead of listening to the raid leader bark out orders. Wow raiding reminds me of a FPS match, not the style but the feel of it.

I hope Bioware can make the game challenging without requiring people to be in ventrillo and pay more attention to the actual game instead of the group leader.

Not knocking on the hardcore raiders, they enjoy that part of the game but I hope they can change the raid game up a bit and make it fun again and keep the immersion, while not dumbing it down and making to stupid easy to do. So the people who enjoy talking in vent can do so and the people who like to get sucked into the story can enjoy it as well.

By adventuring I mean like, exploring. You know, an open world bit. LOTRO as to Guild Wars. I would much prefer instances for dungeons and what not, of course.
