The real news today about SWTOR is that you will be able to customize and build your own ship, so some type of space exploration is being put in place, though details are scarce.

Do you happen to have a link to your source for this information?

My bet is that the ship acts as player housing, providing you with a place to store stuff and swap out pets while allowing you to "fly" to different planets. See KoTOR.

I seriously doubt there will be any sort of space combat in the game at launch.

The link was Gary, from Bioware, standing on stage announcing it to the world. Maybe try and watch E3?

If you go to the below link, it's the entire EA E3 presentation. If you want to just see SWTOR presentation, it starts at about the 1:10:00 mark.

They said starting tomorrow and for the rest of the week they will have hands on demo's with the game. So expect a ton of reviews of the hands on experience from online sites and player filmed footage.

Still waiting to see what the UI looks like....
Honestly, that would be the only dealbreaker for me at this point.

We've seen the UI MANY times already. Just look at the majority of game screenshots. Like Darth Hater's dissections. We've seen most of the game menu buttons, the action bar, minimap, chatbox, quest tracker. We've seen the entire UI, you just haven't looked beyond this year's E3. Maybe I can find a link to an article with some pics for you.

Here you go: http://darthhater.com/2009/09/12/pax-democoruscant-dissection/

And yes, the UI has been final for at least a year, so that's what we'll see in-game. And since an earlier dissection established it, the inverted red triangle above the action bars is a combat indicator.

And if you want to know what this trailer gives us gameplay wise, keep watching darth Hater, thay will disect it to the core!

And there were some very nice hints in the decived trailer that have now been found in game (cant remember what they were but again darth hater pointed them out)

Just watched it on G4 and the cinematic is stunning.

That said, cinematic trailers have little to do with actual gameplay, so I don't get too worked up about them.

I have to say, the trailers for this game are better than the majority of the prequel trilogy. More to topic, I hope that the game play is anything as awesome as these trailers. I like the way they present the different classes and factions. If nothing else, some great eye candy from great storytellers.

Larry, you better pull a damn video recorder out or your iphone to capture some of that Demo that is going to be at the booth!

I wish they'd chosen the same graphical style for the game that they did for this trailer. Not a big fan of Clone Wars here..

The things I've seen about combat animations working together and reacting to each other looks pretty cool though.

If the game actually looked and played like the CGI trailer, I might bother with it at least for the first 30 days. But as usual, the CGI misrepresents the game you'll actually get. Guess hype works better if you show an expensive CGI rendering, rather than the Saturday morning cartoon that is the actual game.
