t1 and t4 are usually good on my server, but switch to an alt in t2 or t3 and most times its a lonely grind zone

This is pretty much a typical post from a person that is writing an article - knowing that one bad word about the game might actually mean that the devs/publishers (in this case EA) will not buy an add on the site for next 3 months. Not that I have seen alot of adds about WAR lately. But to the point.

Lets look at it from the viewpoint of a player that starts to play WAR after 3-4 years of WOW - shall we?.

Within 3-4 levels of gameplay you will see something that BLizzard would NEVER ever accept in their game. Yes.. mobs dissapearing into walls. This happens in pretty much every single map - any time you go into a cave or a tower. That doesn't mean they havn't fixed some of it ( like the keeps) but still this factor is so gamebreaking when it comes to gameplay - that any person that has been folloing a polished product like WOW will realise they are paying the SAME amount of cash for less quality product.

And lets get to the point. WAR is a PVP/PVE oriented game with the focus on RVR. Then.. lets see a game that actually has the quality to play as such. PVE in WAR is a disgrace. And dont say I havn't done it recently.. cause I have.. Why on earth bother with HV when the drops are crap and you are likely to run into bugged boss every other try? Same with PQs. I went one night with 2 other players and we did 6 PQs and 2 of those bugged before we finished them.

As a PVP/RVR game - the smart ppl will realise within 2 weeks what is going on. If you call 20 ppl against 2 to be PVP in an RVR.. then go ahead an hope you roll the faction that has 20 ppl.. Cause ... thats what the RVR is... No balance - no balance - no balance. And that is NOT a great longterm enjoyment - even if you are on the winning site.

WAR still has so big issues that it will never come close to fix them. The core aspects of the game are just not working. And the latest Captital sieges with a 24 man limit in each instance... is just another great example of how far Mythic is from solving any of the issues.

Now.. with that said.. Im not saying I hate WAR... Im just one of many that came to the conclution months ago that its not a title worth paying for. Cause - its simply not worth it. Most ppl will agree with me after 1 month of WAR... but then... maybe thats all what the devs are after... Fooling few more nubs to become cannon fodder for the vets for few days... Those that have got a lvl 40 character - watching another 40 levels of renown to go - will understand what Im talking about.. Its just waste of time. And not worth 1 gold.

Blizzard may not have mobs disappearing into walls, but they have PLENTY of their own follies and problems. I could list them, but I'll assume you aren't ignorant enough to argue this fact - lest you should thirst to be proven inexperienced.

I must agree however that for WAR to still have so many major issues this far out to sea just speaks to its failboat status. I was as big a hopeful fan as this game has ever had at one point, but due to many contributing factors, the devs did not upkeep with what is expected from the subscription base of an MMO and thus it quickly fell subpar - and has been sinking ever since. It has had a few miraculous fixes, but that only further speaks to the severity of the issue - when you have miraculous fixes and the game still feels like alpha phase, it's time to throw in the towel. Hopefully the 40K MMO doesn't fail. I have high hopes for it, given that its developer make nothing but high quality games and of course, the Warhammer lore is always excellent for those of us who are not a big fan of the bubblegum tween crap that games like WoW try to tote as lore.

I guess I can't blame WoW directly for their lore failings though - they didn't have long to come up with a foundation once Games Workshop dropped them on their asses during the making of WC1. Building on a shoddy foundation results in the current state of WoW's "lore", where you have stolen ideas from a thousand different mythologies and nothing even remotely unique in flavor, because everything is a mish-mash of both generic and other people's ideas. I actually bothered to read the quests in WAR, which is something I can honestly say I stopped doing after level 3 in WoW. Still, nothing WAR has can surmount its terrible level of technical efficiency, tier and advancement systems design and therefore overall enjoyability.

lol pvp is never balanced in any game. its best balanced in WAR out of all the games i have played. as for the numbers thing its the same in all games as well. the only thing they could do to remedy that is to cut back on their bg's a bit more. besides its not like its the way people make it out to be with one faction owning the other 24/7. the game may have its share of problems but mythic has hit the pvp nail right on the head.

For me, Warhammer has probably the most positive low level experience, because I just have to do PvE for about 30 minutes before i hit level 5/6 and have enjoyable PvP. Enjoyable, interesting combat in 30 minutes is pretty rare in an MMO.

I've never encountered mobs disappearing into walls in WAR, but my characters' feet have disappeared into the ground in WoW.

I agree with MF about the low level experience in WAR, not only from a PvP perspective but also PvE. The early introduction to PQ's means people are automatically grouping up and having fun together within the first 3 or so levels, and in how many other MMO's does that ever happen?

I have hardly ever seen Mobs disappear into walls. Perhaps once or twice they may be stuck in wall and may bug so it says I'm too far away to attack but it isn't really that rare. and although I haven't played WoW, I'm sure it happens there when the server gets out of sync with the mob and so it goes into a place it isn't suppose to be and you are unable to attack it.

I myself think the starting zone is very good althouggh it does get rather boring so often I transfer into the original starting zones to be on my own and to have a better time.

I see mobs disappearing into walls all the time. They also continue to attack you through line of sight, which is completely game breaking if you are trying to use structures with your strategy. I really wonder if I'm playing the same WAR as everybody else sometimes. There are bugs all over the damn place, and it is incredibly frustrating. In the last two weeks alone I've seen the following:

- The mail system had a total break down, and was unavailable for two days on my server.
- Items from auction returns are disappearing if you walk away from your mailbox too soon. CSR appeals do not return these items. Lost about 100g in stuff so far.
- Casting bar text will remain after the action is complete. Casting something else will not reset the text.
- The "teleport to hotzone" rarely works right. I'm constantly being sent to barren, boring wastelands that have not seen a fight for over 20 minutes. Especially confusing, as there are active keep fights in areas at the time in other zones with a large amount of people involved.
- Randomly, even in T1, certain characters will just be invisible. I consider this a texture loading problem, however I did not see it prior.

I could honestly keep going, I have a whole vault of complaints, but I just want to shed some light on the topic by saying that if you are having a good, pleasant experience with WAR, then consider yourself lucky. I get so mad at this title because I really, really want to like it, and sometimes can't even log into my character, for whatever reason.

Never Experienced any of your issues, playing since November and haven't had a single one of the supposed "bugs" you have experienced.

the part where especially you say the war report doesn't work right casts a big doubt on your whole post as the war report is active at all times and when a map has bigger numbers of fight it quickly updates to the higher numbers map, when there's not enough numbers or actions the announcement for that particular map dissapears.

Never experienced a single mob stuck in a wall since November having leveled 3 characters to 40 rank trough a mix pve and pvp.

Point Being got no idea what game you guys are playing and whining about, cause it certainly doesn't sound like the War I am playing.

God's speed to you Jonathan. I am truly jealous, and frustrated, that you do not find significant problems with WAR, and hope that experience does not change for you. That said, I do, and my post covers very, very little of my experience with the title.

In reference to the WAR report, my complaint is that 9 times out of 10, the report will send you to a dead zone, that had a battle about twenty minutes before your arrival. Sure, it updates, but you can only use it once every 8 hours. My point is that it does not actually follow the fight around, it just guesses, and you're stuck spending your gold flying to other areas. This feature needs improvement.

If you have not seen any stuck mobs, or line of sight problems, try some PvE leveling in T2 and T3. They're all over the place, especially in the Dwarf/Greenskin zones. Floating barrels for quest objectives, enemies stuck in terrain that will kill you, and engineer dwarfs that can shoot through mountains and walls.

Again, more power to you, I honestly wish I did not have these issues, because I find ORvR, Scenarios, and the City Sieges incredibly fun. However, it's hard to swallow tasty ice cream when it's covered with roaches.

I can confirm most of vileS's complaints. The bugs have existed for a while although they are random and not really reproducable.

- Items from auction returns are disappearing...This is confirmed by the developers through in game messages.

- Casting bar text will remain after the action...This does happen, mostly with channeling abilities or ones with long cast times.

- Randomly, even in T1, certain characters will just be invisible...Nothing worse then running into an area that appears empty then suddenly 30 of the opposing realm finally load on top of you.

There are still plenty of graphical glitches as well. I recently had the rare, stuck in knocked-down animation while surrounded by a stuck fire shield animation. That was pretty funny.

Just got back after quiting about 3 times since launch. The game is far more enjoyable now that its ever been. In Volkmar both sides are nicely evened and I've experienced RVR action on all the tiers so far. Mostly full warband on warband action!

The classes are far more balanced than before, with many of the crutches that horrible players held on to being nerfed to oblivion, there are still some classes that need to be brought up to standards but I dont see BWs, WPs, WH owning everything easily like they used too.

The game still has its faults, PVE is dull, mail problems are popping up, scenarios dont seem to pop as much as they should. But its leagues better than its ever been

WAR's biggest mistake was focusing too much on PvE. This was supposed to be a RvR/PvP game but I had to grind through 40 some levels of "kill ten boars" to get there. If WAR wants to survive they should just ditch PvE and focus solely on RvR/PvP. More scenarios, arenas, RvR zones, and more emphasis on getting to the other side's home and sacking it.

No - the problem was not that it was PVE oriented. The problem was that the PVE content was crap. AI is poor - thus mobs dissapearing into walls ( it does happen alot) is just an example of how bad it is.

Like others have pointed out here before. The game has huge issues and every single month - new one will crop up taht should not be there if the game was managed and developed properly. The mail system problems. Lets not forget that some ppl were charged over 20 times for 1 month just few weeks ago. This IS the quality of WAR. Its poor - at best.

The only problem I've seen with WAR is people tend to bash it CONSTANTLY. It's not a bad game, and has really really good PvP. People have expectations of it that are waaaay too high and need to calm down already. We get it, you got your ass owned in PvP so you're going to cry about anything you can. Whatever, your game experience is overexaggerated and more than likely fabricated based on the same garbage drivel that WAR haters have been spouting for the past year and a half.

It's not Jesus.
It's not going to give you a handy-j in the movie theater.
It's not vomiting magical rainbows of electronic gaming goodness.

It's Warhammer, and it will probably just kick your ass and make you bitter. Some people can handle that, and the rest are going to crai about it. Life goes on.
