I don't believe him that you can turn off the quips! They are going to make me listen to them till I go crazy! GW is the devil!

if you ask me, this line:

"It would take an unusual build of traits, attributes, and skills to maximize the effectiveness of such a tactic (longbow warrior) but is definitely possible"

more or less blows out my theory that rangers have been absorbed into the warrior class.

long live rangers

of course. what good mmorpg doesn't have rangers :) there is no way that there won't be such a class, even if it has a different name

the more I hear.. the more I like. It's good to hear that they will continue to do PVE and PVP justice by splitting them up! Buff and Nerf as needed without breaking one gameplay mode for the sake of the other.

ArenaNet's Eric Flannum replies:

"The combat chatter that you hear triggers based off of certain criteria such as stunning a foe, lifting a heavy object, leveling up, entering combat, etc... There are limits put on it to make certain it doesn't happen too often and players always have the option to disable it if they want."

There we go photics, so quit bitching about it.

That top picture impresses the hell out of me. That looks like Oblivion type graphics. I hope now the system requirements aren't through the roof...

I don't believe they will. It was stated that GW2 is, like GW1, supposed to be able to run on a wide range of systems starting in the lowe middle-class ... (and I mean, who today doesn't have at least a dual core and 1-2 GB memory?)

And from what I've heard in early news they utilize a new engine (Umbra, was it?) that only renders what you see right at that moment (meaning if something is behind a building or something, it's not rendered.), so they can use a lot more polys with less hardware usage, meaning that it'll look more awesome ^^

True that, Shy. If they did make it too powerful, it couldn't reach as wide of an audience, and numbers would hurt, which is the last thing any MMO would want.

I just, over the years, have had a rough time with Oblivion. First, it was on a DVD, and I didn't have a DVD player. Then, the specs were absolutely rediculous. No matter how good I thought my system was, Oblivion humbled it down. Even now, with a quad core, 8 gig, 9800 GTX I'm still not positive I can run it on full blast. :)

But I will definitely take your word for it. The engine sounds sexy as hell, and if I can run this game with top notch graphics, and with LotRO going F2P, I may never play a subscription based game again.

"Level 15" and "last major system to be introduced"? Does that mean the level cap will also be 20? Dang, was hoping for an endless leveling system in which it doesn't really matter. I am hoping I am wrong though.

What is an "endless leveling system"?

(I think they have said the level cap will be higher than 20, though I'd be perfectly happy if it stayed low. I am on record as not being a big fan of constantly raised level caps, huge power gaps between low and high levels, and gear dependency, but those are soapboxes for another day. ;) )

Reading too much into things. They've already said they'll increase the level cap. And how the heck did you get lvl 20 from "Level 15" and "last major system to be introduced"?

Seriously man get a grip.

"...players always have the option to disable it if they want."

Let's just hope that it doesn't disable the roleplay voices all together. Keep the two audios separate so that I can listen to roleplay events.

This game just keeps getting sexier. The warrior videos are all kinds of awesome. And so were the elementalist vids. I'm really itching for this game in a bad way!
