What is this game? I know nothing about it?

I had the exact same reaction, Bartlebe. Why pay a lifetime sub for a game I know nothing about? It was kind of someone here to link a description, but if that's the first way I have to hear about it, it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence about the game's stature.

It is apparently an "Exciting Online Action-RPG in a Unique Mythological Setting."

"well worth it for those who pay the $129.99 price tag"

So you've played the game and it's good?

Nice start... first news in ages and its about how much you will have to pay for a "lifetime" sub. Hmm... Lifetime in like LOTRO lifetime ?

Remember guys... Lifetime means they will not have any reason to improve the game. So stay far far away from any such offers. Its usually a sign that the game is lacking cash to even make it to launch.

All in all. Bad news. Wise choise would be to stay far away from this title.

OMG.. I just finished reading the whole list... The are not desperate... They are litterally out of money and need cash tomorrow to pay the bills.

The first 2000 will get their name in some list ingame...

Seriously...

Bank of Nikolai or Mython ? Id say Bank of Nikolai. Put your money there for "safe" keeping.

Sigh. It totally depends on the company. And no, I'm not going to argue the point with you. Believe whatever you want. My comment was intended for other readers, to show that this is not some kind of universally-accepted truth all gamers ardently believe.

This is where you say something insulting to me, I'm sure, so I'll leave you to it.

Lifetime subscription for a F2P game, really, what the heck? It looks more like a Collector's Edition, but CE's for a F2P game would make me ask the same question...

Haven't played it yet but the game actually looks a little better than Battle of the Immortals. Still... wouldn't buy a Lifetime Subscription for a F2P game. Snake oil IMO.

This is laughable. LAUGHABLE!!!! I played the open beta and it had so many bugs it was hardly playable at all. I checked the forums just last week and apparently there had not been one patch since OB launched (well over a month ago) and almost no one was playing anymore.

By the way, this is a F2P game people. F2P.

So how exactly is this a lifetime sub? What are the benefits to subbing to a f2p? I'm confused especially since this doesn't seem to be a f2p/sub hybrid.

This is a new one, I find it hard to believe that anyone in there right mind would shell out that amount of cash for a F2P game, let alone a P2P game (with some exceptions). I had completely forgotten about the game until now...the only update we hear is a money grabbing scheme.

I'm not talking about this game which I've never heard of but which by all accounts here has some problems. However, as a generalisation I think you're wrong in relation to lifetime subs. They can be a very good way of raising additional funds up-front with which to pay off the development costs early, thereby freeing the ongoing revenue precisely to fund improvements to the game.

However, when considering a lifetime sub you have to pick the right game. I took 2 lifetime subs with LoTRO at launch and have absolutely no regrets, but there are very few other games I would have done it with, probably EQ2 if it had been offered but I can't think of any others.

I haven't read the entire offer, but if it's F2P and they have a cash shop, and the lifetime subscription gave you access to every item in that cash shop, that *would* be an excellent deal. But I'm doubting that is their intention.

It's not a lifetime subscription. You still have to pay money at the shops and it being a free 2 play game there are no subs. It's more of a collectors edition thing.

Not a fan of this game, which is sad, because I liked the buzz and idea around it. Unfortunately, I couldn't even stand playing it through the tutorial. Can't imagine spending money on it, much less that much money.

As for some of the things offered, frankly, they're a little disturbing:

* Future beta access - I'm against paying for beta. It's wrong.
* Named in the credits? Why? As a "patron" of the game?
* Forum recognition - once again, why? To stroke somebody's e-peen? I'm ok with recognition if you've been a contributing member to the forums, but not if you paid for the privilege...
