Yes, they did delay launch for everyone else so ONE guy can play for himself for 30 minutes. And the fun part? HE IS NOT EVEN ON.

He is in contact with starvault, and he is online playing with the developers. He paid $5000 for the first lootbag, and it all went to the charity: "doctors without borders", so i think he deserves the first play for that type of generosity.

So is this even playable yet? Just 3 weeks ago it was still a rough beta at best, I doubt a miracle patch ended up dropping.

Mortal Online... LOL. This game will soon enough realize the frailness of its own mortality. Muahahaha

Mmm are you one of those who hate the game because it's different from WoW or because, inside its own genre, it has no content?

In the first case you ask for things it's not supposed to have, like NPC's that tell stories, that boss you around to do their boring quests.

Otherwise if you think MO lacks the content a sandbox game should have, i agree, but the stuff MO has atm is very promising, it lets you see how things may become if it HAS A CHANCE, because unlike any game of the genre, included Darkfall, MO tries to be a total simulation.

But maybe you don't even know why you typed that, it's kinda like mobbing, you see people throwing stones, you join the fun.

I tried the Beta and it is a niche game that will not appeal to many people at all and what they do have in game for sandbox is not enough to keep people interested very long from what I've seen.

I don't think this game will be a success.

@Lok1

It's probably because the game itself is clunky, buggy, poorly animated, inconsistent graphics, etc. Basically this game has as much polish as a piece of sandpaper. How you could play this game and not realize this is beyond me, it just has 3rd rate MMO written all over it.

Content is just one of many problems the game has and the pros of the game are not nearly enough to keep this game from failing to grab the attention of MMO players.

I'm all for an awesome sandbox game but this game isn't it. Better luck next time.

@Disataste

I don't think graphics are that bad. I don't like its style, too realistic for my taste, but your opinion of them is very exaggerated. Your visceral dislike of the style affects your general judgement.

Not to mention that in the end are we really supposed to judge a game by its looks or by its substance?

In the substance MO isn't nearly complete, almost all the professions are shallow and uninteresting, except the slag hauler, i played one for 3 months, it was a neverending BLAST.

So what saves the game? That its core concept is a TOTAL simulation, its goal is total realism aided by "taste" for science.

I've got no horse in this race, and don't care one way or another what happens to it, but I've got my popcorn ready for the pure comedy the various forums will provide.

Server is UP!

~ 50+ people spawned around Fabernum city and the game is running pretty smooth considering.

Launch is, despite all expectations, going amazingly well.

Just got in to secure my names before work.

So excited.

Eh, Might not be any miracle patches, however. one day the game was unstable and buggy, another it was cleared up. Miracles are only people who don't see the work of men. *cough*

I have no bets in this one, but if the launch was truly smooth, then great job SV. Not many smooth launches occur these days.

It's surprisingly smooth in game, there are bugs still, but luckily non of them major(as far as I've seen.) I admit at the end of open beta the game was in a sorry state...But damn they've really cleaned the game up since then.
