The thing I like most is the rested XP. I don't usually have a lot of time to devote to the game, so the addition of rested XP is very welcome.

It's still an awful grindfest. I spent most of Satuday leveling 35-36. I wasn't grinding non-stop but that was still with both xp boosters maxed.

Having re-signed up for 1.9 (I quit a month after release), I must say I am having a good amount of fun with Aion again. I started a new character (original still at 35).

Part of the new fun is that I know what to expect now (most of us had un-real expectations on release... fault of none-other then ncwest). I know that 2.0 is 'around the corner' (6 months probably?), and so I won't have to deal with endgame in 1.9 (which isn't all that appealing). I can enjoy the leveling experience, and then when I'm done, the expansion should be near.

So far so good...

Will there ever, ever be a trail of this game?

I quit Aion myself. I simply couldn't take more of the grind with little to look forwards to but an empty abyss, fort raids my computer can't run without shutting all player models off, and some bad PvP. Especially when you get jumped by twinks while doing so.

1.9 was underwhelming. When your biggest and best addition is boosting exp from quested mobs and adding another source of rest exp, I'd start worrying.

Agreed, Aion is not a game you'd want to "grind to get to end game". There is no light at the end of the tunnel, and with that I'd say, Aion isn't a tunnel. :) If you aren't having fun progressing your character(s), then ya, don't play.

It is a tunnel though. There really wasn't anything to do but grind: the PvP really was that bad. Rifting was just getting nailed by level 50s when you could even find anyone, and getting jumped by 30+s in full daeva when you were trying to harvest. Crafting was dull, just get mats, craft all, go afk.

I hope 2.0 changes the game for you guys, but as it is now I can see why its struggling.

People still play this pathetic excuse of a MMO? I quit 1 month after spending 300 dollars on 3 colletor's edition. No content, no fun, no end-game..... and people still pay the monthly!?! Heyzues.

I do have to point out though, the people still enjoying it are paying for it. You paid $300 (?!) for a game you hadn't played.

Which one of those is a smarter use of money? Hmm...

The supplement thing made me laugh. It's like something you would make up as an April Fools joke. Next patch maybe they will have "supplement boosters" to increase the effectiveness of supplements by 5/10/15% (15% will require a 4 mill vendor item of course). How many regressive money sinks can they program into this game?

I'm wondering how bad is the Aion's situation in the west, when they had to advertise a bug fix patch (1.9) as an accomplishment, and try to make it like an expansion or something. Aion failed on so many levels in the west that I start to wonder if will ever see 2.0 in the west.

I'm enjoying the rested XP.

The death penalty or Soul Healing costs is still brutal IMO but the price was reduced. I don't know exactly how much but I'm guessing it was in the 30% range.

Flight and teleport cost also came down but are still offensively expensive I think.

I haven't noticed much of a change as far as drops are concerned but it's early and I don't know that my Eltnen runs are a good guide just yet.

Regardless I'm having fun and as long as that's true I will continue to play the game.

I had a 50 gladiator and a 35 cleric. I played from launch and for stuck around for about 5 months. I thought the game was very similar to wow. The grind to cap was annoying and seeing bots everywhere, everyday, irritated the piss out of me. If everything in the game wasn't a huge annoying grind it would have been a great game. The gear grind was ridiculous for pvp gear and , adding gems to your gear was ridiculous, it was all of the extra grinds that killed it for me. If the only big grind was leveling I'd probably still be there but it wasn't.

Not sure if the OP has read the general AND server forums, i check yustiel and a couple others, and the folks that are complaining about 1.9 are being attacked by those fanfolks still in love with their game.

My impression was still more negativity than positive coming from this patch, mostly from the level 45 to 50 crowd defending it. Assasins are dead, Magic users are even more godlike and ranged it the only way to go.

I liked the game up to level 20, to bad the small rifting community and mechanics destroyed the game, 1.9 does absolutely nothing to counter my stand on the state of this title.

1.9 did nothing to improve the game. They actually LOWERED the drop rates on trash mobs, so it is even harder to make money that in 1.5.

Most legions are struggling to retain members and fort raids are becoming a joke to assemble the number the people needed to defend/attack.

2.0 needs to come fast with so many people feeling like 1.9 made the game worse. All you need to do is read the forums. Far more negative posts than positive ones.

I felt like most of the changes to the game from 1.9 were pretty positive. I like that they're gearing up for new content, and it sounds like the daily quests are pushing more PvP and helping ease the boredom of leveling, which is good.

I'm a little disappointed to hear they've boosted the enhancement rate on equipment. Now it goes up to +15, and failures at 11 and above will cause it to drop back down to 10. The supplements seem like a great idea for balancing this out, but they cost millions of Kinah each and don't even ensure success. On top of that, armor enhancements now give +HP, making them worthwhile now (before you could ignore them because +P Def is a worthless stat). That's five more pieces of gear to enchant to +15 each. This is just even more randomization, and creates an even bigger spread between players on the top and players struggling to compete.

I can't see how anyone would be excited about this unless they're already at max level with max gear and are just looking to gank even more easily.

I got tired of the grind at around level 40 and quit a while back. Is leveling actually reasonable yet? I was thinking of maybe trying it out again since I have a lot of free time lately.

I actually raced to level 50, with some 16-18h of grind in some weekends. got to level 50 in under 1 month, just to find that being level 50 had NOTHING TO OFFER.
a single dungeon with 0.0001% drop chance of the GOLDEN items and bots ruling the economy. When a game has GRINDFEST, BOTFEST, UNBALANCED ECONOMY (due to bots), NO ENDGAME and NO PVP, you bring the "MAJOR" patch 1.9 to inc exp boost by 5-10% ? im really sorry i bought this MMO, i never thought it would be that ASIAN.

"So, the big day has come and gone, and Aion's North American players are now basking in the post-patch glow of the much ballyhooed 1.9 update"

So Jef, EU players arent able to bask in this glow?!!!
