@ Gadzooks

Well, then don't play, I find it refreshing I can slap my ship on autopilot, go to the bathroom, get a drink, make a sandwich and come back ready to play.
EvE is about choice, you choose to make the game boring, fun or whatever you want.
If you want to be forced to run quests all day then go play wow.
I don't know about you but I have lots of responsibilities in life, being able to play in EvE's sandbox while doing real life important things is fantastic.

Great article! You should continue on with this topic and further enlighten new and interested parties of EVE.

Here is the problem. There is no immersion. 0 Going into to combat and watching little squares and triangles fly around you is not immersive. Strategic, yes but not immersive. Putting the ship on autopilot and going to the bathroom for 10 minutes is not immersive either.

If I'm going to play a space game, I want to feel like I'm flying the ship, not moving it around like a chess piece.

As stated above EVE is a different kind of game. A spacial sand box with submarine warfare is the best way I can describe it. EVE isn't for everyone nor does it claim to be. At any rate, EVE has a rather large fan base and you have to give them credit for making a one-of-a-kind game.
