I was deliberately not paying to this game just because I don't want to get hyped. But this article is right up my alley! Wonderful stuff, I'm really curious on how the personal story will work out in game. :O

Nice article, but....
All this talk about what they're doing, they need to release more videos like how SW:TOR is. Sad to say but I sense SW:ToR will have more active players than GW2, and GW2 will be free LMFAO. I want to get both games, but the videos for Sw:ToR make it more anticipated than just reading a bunch of articles. Mind you, both of these games are being released Spring 2011. Bioware confirmed that, Anet said they are targeting spring '11

I'm not sure you should really worry about either until closer to release date for both, craka. They may also choosen to have differing marketing campaigns in wich ArenaNet is just starting to warm up. (I found the concept art gallery approach of GW2 interesting.)

But this is what I say, if both those properties live up to any of their stated expectations...WoW could find itself on the recieving end of a tag team'd body slam in 2011. But both games could bomb like Bill Roper and Alganon too. We will never really know until we start playing the respective games when released. :)

I'm really wanting to know how much direct control you have over your home instance.

It's obvious that there's a lot of indirect control where doing a certain something causes a certain something else to change within your home instance. But what about personalizations such as decorations, furnishing, etc.?

In other words, will you be able to put a specific type of bed in a location of your choice? Or will the game simply give you a certain trophy that appears in a predefined spot over which you have no control?

It really sounds as though ANet is handling player housing/personal instancing the way it *should* have been handled in LotRO and other games.

Why Turbine chose to place its player housing in "Outer Dead-Burbia" I will never understand. If they had offered instanced home bases in the major cities with everything -- vendors, crafting, etc. -- more easily accessible, then I would have been much more interested in it.

I really love the way GW2 is having you fill out a brief "character profile" before you play the game and then tailoring the game to match that profile. This is a promising step. I always thought it was unfortunate how WoW started you off with a pretty decent sense of place and character (the various starting areas, such as Teldrasil), but then it all sort of merged into one homogeneous mass experience, with everybody doing pretty the same things.

GW2 just can't be completed fast enough to suit me. It just sounds wonderful.

Nope. The devs (I think it was Eric Flannum) already stated in an interview that they will focus on Windows systems.

Seems to me that only two of those questions were actually about the personal story, and one could be tangentially related.

Ah, it looks like Anet are starting to pay some attention to you Rubi.
I'm glad you're able to get this interview.

Can we expect more interviews via massively in the future?

GW2 just sounds better and better all the time. Looks like we finally have an antidote to all the WoW clones - and the first fantasy MMO in 5 years that I'm really excited about. I absolutely cannot wait to play this.

The promises and goals sound awe inspiring. Screenshots and trailer look promising.
But how many of those who get hyped really want to play in such an immersive, eventfull and breathfull world, even if they manage to pull it off as intended?

I hope GW2 server wont be flooded by the farmville generation player again, who rather play a dead world but entertaining game, than a living and mere enjoyable world,
then suffer from larger playerloss and refusal again, by those who feel annoyed by the environmental events not abiding to their pleases, the demands to the player above hastily hitting some buttons and adapting to this appearantly new gameconcept instead of jumping right into the next EQ rehash.
