Further insight into the wondrous world of Star Wars: The Old Republic whisked its way to us via a teaser trailer GameSpot posted about the Sith Warrior Class.
In this revealing tease, the Sith apprentice relives his training under his master and threatens the Jedi of the galaxy. Wicked lightsabers clash atop a bridge overlooking a glorious rocky canyon calling back to the epic duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Our ominous warrior effortlessly deflects blaster bolts from four enemies, sending the deadly plasma flashing back towards his adversaries. Then in a fit of Force rage the dark apprentice slams full-force into his Jedi opponent, tossing the gallant foe over the edge of the bridge many stories to his death. The armored tank of the Sith Warrior is not one to cross lightly.
As nail-biting as the trailer is, that is not all. Notice at 1:15 of this exciting video trailer, the Sith Warrior is driving a speeder bike. What does this mean? Are players going to have vehicles in SWTOR? We do not have the answer, but given the footage in this trailer, the answer looks positive. Continue after the break and judge for yourself.
[Update] The official site has added more to the Sith Warrior class page. Unfortunately, there is nothing about vehicles.

There had better be vehicles and tbh Space in SW:TOR. This was one of the big f up's SWG made. SWG felt like Ground Wars.

But SWG had a very good space portion, so what's this talk of Ground Wars? It lacked ground vehicles, but it did have space combat that was even better than the ground game.

Cut scene. Bet me.

No way, that was in-game video, so I bet either it is a fast travel method like flight paths in WoW or Warhammer, or a true mount in later levels. I would find it hard to believe fast travel won't be included, assuming this game has a true open world like they claim.
This video was great, mostly for the fact the Sith Warrior is the class I most want to play out of all of them. Keep the Sith Warrior details coming!

I hope so, otherwise this would be an MMO without a mount/travel power. I have high hopes for this game, and the Star Wars geek in me is super excited to see how they develop the galaxy to be the one we all love with new adventures and stories.

Looks great! I love the stylized graphics! Looks good visually and is probably quite stable and efficient which bodes well for a good launch. Overall theme is very Star Warsy!
That vehicle part probably wasn't a cut scene because well, we haven't gotten any hints about travel forms yet (they'd be stupid not to include something) so this looks like a handy opportunity to start throwing out some bread crumbs.

Actually a fan friday http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20100423_002
Has confirmed there will at least be a taxi service. So there is nothing to suggest this is nothing more then a taxi service with a different skin to represent the planet. I can't imagine the kind of taxis show in the article flying around Korriban

Likely just a train track form of fast travel so I wouldn't get too hyped up.

I'll bet those speeders are public transportation, like horses originally in DAoC, or Flight Path's in WoW and other games. I hope I'm wrong though.

Of course it will have vehicles/mounts.

When thinking about today's MMO top contenders, I can't think of one game without mounts. So it seems silly to assume that SWTOR would be any different. These mounts, if they do (and it's probably very likely that they do) exist, are simply tailored to the Star Wars lore; i.e. speeder bikes.
It doesn't seem that outlandish to me. Fast travel will also likely be available, but it seems to me that a character-driven speeder bike would be controlled by the player.

I expect there will be no mounts/vehicles for the first couple months of the game being live to let us know how much it sucks to walk everywhere and then :
NEW to the SW:TOR cash shop. Feel the wind in your face as you race through the canyons of Tatooine!!!! For just $25 you can own your very own land speeder!!!! Please fund our CEO's latest Ferrari!!!!
Cue dead horse to be dragged out and beaten as a few hundred brainwashed morons tell everyone that $25 is perfectly reasonable (to assuage their guilty conscience at having already bought it) and a few sane voices question if it is value for money. The developers know though, it is Star Wars, they could sell a virtual poop on a stick for $25 if they told the fans it had midichlorians in it.

The Trailer was Amazing, and I hope it's only the First in a complete Series of "Class" Videos. Please Let Inquisitor or Imperial Agent be next. One thing that needs mentioning that I found rather hilarious was over on the Gamespot web-site. In the comments below the Video there are endless posts about the Game's stylized Graphics and how people Love it or Hate it. What had me shaking my head, equal parts amused and irritated, was a post that talked about how BioWare is ripping people off with Graphics that look, "Dated." On top of that, they basically say in the post that BioWare should release a game that has 2011 graphics as opposed to 2006 graphics because people who have Decked-Out Rigs should receive a MMO with Decked-Out graphics.
My take on the post is essentially that the person in question is indicating that TOR needs to be only for the PC/Mac-Elite; those who have spent several grand on a Computer or have the means to update thier Hardware to accomodate a Title like AoC, Aion, or APB; and those people who have machines that can not run those titles should be left out in the cold and be S@ out of Luck. I mean...come on! Really? The only consolation I can take out of that Myopic post and thier observation is that there is no way they can be Star Wars fans; more likely they are just an elitist gamer.
I've grown up with Star Wars; sat in the theater in '77 and had my mind blown and have been a fan ever since. I've had the privledge of knowing hundreds of Star Wars fans, and not *One* of them would leave another fan out in the cold. If BioWare wants to make a Stylized-Art MMO set in the SWU that people with World of Warcraft Rigs can play than I say Bless those guys and gals for not only seeing the Profit in making a game that a TON of people can play, but for setting it up so that you don't need a 3-5 grand machine to play the Bloody thing.
