The longstanding search for a console MMO is ongoing, with All Points Bulletin coming up as one of the bigger hopes for the near future. It's been announced, however, that while the game is still slated for consoles, it's not going to be ported straight over from the PC version. That's the word from EJ Moreland, lead designer, who recently went on record saying that as the development of the game progressed, it became more and more obvious that the game wouldn't work as a straight port of the PC version.
Before anyone throws up their hands in despair, however, the game is still planned for release on consoles. There's no specific timetable for it, as the team chose to focus on the PC version first, but it is still slated for release. As to how the game will be different, the only clue is the cryptic explanation that it will be in a form more suited to console play. What precisely that means is unclear, but every All Points Bulletin fan can only hope that the game will still hold on to its unique multiplayer experience.

All I want to know is when they are going to let you hand out beta keys. ;)

A different variation on the same old story. Console version gets delayed...console version never comes out. I think Free Realms will end up being the first successful (and by successful I mean completed) MMO port from PC to console, of this generation.

Nope max, Monster Hunter Frontier is releasing in japan on Xbox 360 this summer. Apparently they did a deal with Microsoft, selling a 15$ game card thats also a one month for xboxlive. Hopefully its successful enough in japan to be released here in the west even thought the PC version of it hasn't been released here yet :)

Personally, I'm very glad that the console and PC versions of the game are completely separate and different. Almost every time there's a port from one to the other, with very few exceptions, it lacks something.

I agree with Max. Same old crap.
You will be able to play APB on consoles when either pigs fly or AoC is released for Xbox. I bet on the pigs.

I dont see why it couldn't be directly ported to the consoles all it is is a shooter game with 100 player maps not an MMO hell MAG has 250 player maps unless it's the customization part that is the hinderance.

It doesn't matter whether it's a console port or not. As a beta tester I can tell you that it's utterly dull.
