The game is slowly sinking and all Cryptic can think to do it release some more "brief stint" content? Either they're keeping some long term projects close to their chest, or the game is already going on life support... kind of sad.

The game needs new, long term pieces of content that are substantial beyond "I run a story-arc, and then i'm done... beyond repeating it over and over again."

Keep rating me down like it's changing the truth. CO launched with a fraction of CoX's content. Nine months in the game has added...one whole area when it needs ten more.

Atari pulls the plug end of 2010. Guaranteed...and when that happens I'll be back to laugh at the lifers trying to desperately wish the game won't get crushed by MARVEL, DCUO, GOING ROGUE and more.

CO's just about done, I think. Revelation was one area and an endgame dungeon, the Melee patch so overpowered the Might set that PvP is even more of a joke, and now they're down to ripping off CoX Task Forces!

Sorry guys. Your game is dead. CoX Going Rogue will be out, Marvel SHS, DC UO, all before the end of the year. And Atari will pull the plug on Chumps before January. Guarantee.

Hey Eliot? Massively staff? Nobody cares about adventure packs, man. Game's dead.

Slight rant. I am so sick of people shouting "OMG the game is dead!" any time Champions Online, Star Trek Online or Warhammer Online come up. I've been seeing "this game is dead" comments on WAR posts for about a year now, and they're somehow still releasing content. I'll believe all this "game X is dead" tripe when it comes straight from the company.

Hey, look! new content for the places where people were moaning about there not being enough content! And unlockable costume pieces, which implies it's not just more stuff in the C Store!

I admit, it's not as awesome as, say, a new area or faction or massive collection of quest chains, but it's still something! And I'm excited about it, even if I'm in the minority!

That's right! This game is *so* dead, they keep releasing content for it! That's totally dead!

And MMO news sites posting news about MMOs? For shame!

It is dead though. There's very little to do in it once you hit level cap except very boring grindy missions and pvp. This seems like a good idea, but again, you can't just expect them to keep rolling alts. Or doing the same missions just difficulty slider-erd up.

Eventually people are just going to get sick of it. I know I did and left.

Funny. City of Heroes has had no end game, and is still going after six years. So, yes, you can expect people to just keep rolling alts, 'cause some people enjoy that, as City of Heroes has shown.

How is any other MMO different than this? Champions is content light but they are correcting that issue. The adventure packs will give players new ways to either level or challenge their caped characters. From what I remember too, aside from the normal content updates, these adventure packs are supposed to be released fairly frequently.

Actually, there are games that have plenty more content and generally not only release new content but also release new features with it.

A difficulty slider is really one of the only features that they've put into the game since its launch in September.

They need substantial features to get people going through these lairs over and over again that aren't just "perks" and "action figures."

There is little to motivate a person to repeat anything in CO, and therefore, once something has been completed it isnt compelling to do it again. The adventure packs will likely be a band-aid keeping the game's life blood, the subscribers, from pouring out. That will only hold for so long. The game needs stitches.

Lol - you are clueless - CO is soo much more fun than CoX - CoX has the game play and thrill of giving your grandmother a sponge bath (guess you like that) - that game is dead - servers are deserted.
