I don’t care what other think right now I just want to share my experience with the expansion based on known exploits. (already fixed)
be warned non-native speaker text ahead

I was ready to return for the expansion unfortunately my gtx280 died one day prior to the launch and I had to fix a broken gtx8800 from a friend a few days later by baking it in my oven. OK I lost a few days but hell with it I thought. I returned … just to find out my old guild is farming an exploited boss in one of the new instances over and over again to get the alternative advancement points for the kill. The boss fight is two parts but you should only get the points after the finishing the second part what should result in a cool down of the boss, naturally we never finished the second part and started over again after the boss quickly reset itself. My gild started to complain because it was monotone and uneventful they said “once they fix the exploit they will never step a foot into this instance again” Others begged for a fast fix so they can start to explore the new content and get away from this boring exploit farming. But it was the most efficient and logical thing to do at this time. Some of my guild members already had the best alternative advancement skill unlocked or where close to do so, I felt envious and unhappy that I lost time due to my hardware issue.

Now that said, there was a second exploit “supporting” the one mentioned above. The portions for experience extra (25% exp portions, 10%helmet, etc.) they where effective but they are for exp points and not AA points! Working in that instance only but not in the open world, and stacking, some clever guildies managed to keep some former claimed 100%exp portions form a xmas even or something (can’t remember) so 135% plus on the gained alternative advancement points.

Now, it’s getting even better, Funcom offered a digital collectors edition upgrade for the rise of the god slayer for 9.99 containing some unimportant stuff and ohh well what an surprise 10x 100% exp portions and 10x 10% AA portions everyone bought it of course and some managed to gain 235% AA points from the boss exploit. I bought it too because at this time my plan was still to return to AOC and T3 and T4 raids. Next day I felt bad about all this also reading about the exploit of the missing CD for a specific faction quest some people where lvl4 after one weekend. Enough said, …

Just came back to AOC and I'm pretty happy so far. I now have hardware to support graphics on max and I have to say the game is simply stunning! I hope my summer romance with AOC can last. :)

My first priority for the expansion was to figure out why, after the launch of the expansion I was seeing lag spikes of 5kms+ every minute or so. After asking in the forums and contacting support I was ready to give up since all I was met with was a collective "dunno" from the forums and a nice form letter non-response from their customer support.

However, undeterred, I pressed on struggling against all odds to figure out why AoC was doing this all of a sudden. After a week of being unable to play the game I had paid $15 to re-subscribe to and $30 for the expansion, I discovered that having my dual 8800gt video cards in SLI mode was causing the lag spikes somehow. It was odd, given that I had played half a week prior to the launch of Godslayer and it was fine.

Now I am able to play again! So, yeah Funcom. THATS what I spent the first week of Godslayer doing.

Last time I heard Funcom is charging the same as other MMO games. So ... the answer is - Offer the same amount of content updates. In terms of WOW PVE that would be 1-2 new raid content dungeons per year. That should already be announched to be fair.

But then.. maybe AOC can not offer that amount of new content. Still you then wonder why they are charging the same for it.
