In what must be one of the fastest closures we've heard about, it would appear that GameKiss has decided to shut down their "action MMO" Nida Online tomorrow -- just short of 8 months after it launched into open beta. While they don't give specifics as to precisely why they've opted to shut down the game, MMOCrunch is citing financial issues as the reason that GameKiss has decided on this course of action.
In either case, while it's never good to see any MMO community lose its home, we suspect that Nida Online players will likely bounce back. After all, there are a great many other free-to-play games with solid populations to choose from -- and a new one launching (seemingly) every other day.

The game itself was from 2002 and had no cash shop in it. The developers as part of the liscencing agreement said they would provide a cash shop and a graphical revamp, of which they did neither.
I think it sucks that something like that would happen to gamekiss, as from the interactions I've had with their staff members... they are some of the nicest and most professional staffers from any MMO company ever.
Hopefully they'll be able to bounce back from this minor bump in the road with relative ease.

I'm sorry, but if you say that then you never played GhostX.
There was some GM's that really cared for that game but they simply disapeared for no reason.
Now it seems like GX is going to die just like NIDA. And soon. =(

I try every single game that comes along no matter what they are. I always like to make up my own mind about a game, whatever it looks like, I need to play it in order to decide. I have played about 150, maybe even 200, once I get so many games that I've tried over the years I've been online, I start to forget how many I've tried out (this includes web games tho and many "virtual worlds" and such). Unfortunately, NIDA would have been in my bottom 10 out of all of them. Even counting games that were made back when the very first graphical games were made on the net (some are still around), NIDA was worse. The quests were completely bland and generic and made no sense. The "towns" were little more than a few NPCs. The fighting and gameplay was not at all fun, the controls not smooth, overall it just wasn't at all fun to play. To release such a game today when there just are so many other games out that are so much better was just a silly decision to begin with. If it was more fun I'd say go for it, but even if it did have a graphical upgrade and a cash shop, that certainly would not have made the game any better. It was one of the few games I wouldn't want to play even if paid to. It's no surprise that it's going away, the big surprise was "How can it be here?"
This isn't someone who just insults the game for no reason not having played it, I played it and tried for some time to find something fun in it but I just couldn't...
