Could those questions be opinion questions? Or the answer must be based on facts?

Nope! Opinion questions are entirely valid as well! So if you want our opinion on things, ask away! Or guild advice, or, well, pretty much anything MMO related!

Two questions: Are there any MMORTS games out there that are worth playing? And are there any other games out now or in development with a mystery/horror atmosphere, other than The Secret World?

Actually, I'll be ambitious and tack on a third. What non-browser MMOs have Mac clients? One of the biggest problems I have trying to convince my friends to try something other than WoW is that most of them are using macbooks.

Major MMOs with mac clients:

- Warhammer Online
- Eve
- World of Warcraft
- Fallen Earth

There is a way of playing LOTRO on OSX, but you need to go through a little bit of a labour process to do so.

Just google - LOTRO on Mac -

I would just like to say, however, that having a macbook is no excuse not to game. I have been playing MMOs for the past 4 years on my macbook, and I just bought one of the new i5 macbook pros that runs AoC like a bloody champion.

Tell them to install bootcamp (comes standard with mac), and -find- a version of windows somewhere. Macbooks run windows fantastically, and you will be hard pressed to find a game you cannot play in bootcamp, if not in OSX

With crossover games you can play Guild wars and DDO.

And I use a Unofficial Mac Client for Star Trek Online. You can download it on the forums.

What major 3D MMOs can be played reasonably well on a Netbook? Do any of the Massively staff have netbooks and, if so, could they try out the games they have access to on their netbook and put together an article for the rest of us, maybe with short video examples?

Seconded. I have been playing Allods Online with my netbook (Eee PC with Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz, 2 MB Ram), and I have really been limited by either the netbook or my internet connection. It has made me hesitate to BUY a game. I would like to see more about Eve or other games before I commit. Thanks!

Im fed up of pressing a button, watching a pretty animation and waiting to see who dies first.

Are there any MMOs out there which use console style combat? Like / makes you swing your sword?

Megaten does. Very close to what you are looking for too.

Cabal also does, but it's more of the same "pressing a button, watching a pretty animation and waiting to see who dies first." that you mentioned, only with more button pressing. So I don't believe it's what you are looking for.

How can someone who is new to the RPG scene in MMO's learn what stats are, how to read them, add to them, and translate it in user friendly terms? Are there guides to this mathematical process that would help players become uber.

Where will the MMO market be in 10 years?
Will WoW still dominate or will there be a new leader?
What kind of innovations for MMOS will there be, or in your opinion, should there be in a decade?
