I think you mean you stayed away from RP this time because there is none to be had in that game. terrible community for a terrible game.

seconded, terrible community. Out of the 3 thousand or less folks left combined on all servers one out of ten is a pleasant person to interact with in the chat channel, the rest is garbage, simple fact.

I see you also went very easy mode in choosing a ranged shield jockey as i called them, sad, your only challenge now ingame will be to keep from getting rolled over and over and over, but never fear, as the remaining population states in the forums the game is balanced for max level.............have fun getting there.

I'm going to recommend you not try to do two crafts. Crafting is both time and money intensive, and you'll probably very quickly find that you need that money for raising your extraction skills (both vitality and aether) or paying off your soul healing. Your best bet is to pick one craft and stick with it.

Also, the two craft limit is just for the expert quest. Unlike World of Warcraft, Aion will let you raise all crafts to 399 at the same time. You only get to pick two to level up past that to 449. You're unlikely to get anywhere near that point in just five weeks. That has nothing to do with your playthrough, it's just an informative aside for those that haven't played Aion.

The campaign quest chain for the 10-20 zone finishes with an elite area, and that's a good place to get XP at that level. If you can arrange to have a group of players ready to join you when you get into the 16-18 level range, that'll cut out the time you spend looking for a group to do those quests.

I voted for SWG in the poll and would have been happy seeing you explore AoC with the new content, while waiting on at least Aion 1.9 to (someday) show. Or failing that, at least been able to vote for the Aion Test Server, so that everyone could have had the chance to possibly join you (many of us already have 8 characters on other servers). I'm having a blast playing on the test server and find it hard to go back to the regular ones with their terrible drop rates. I couldn't care less about the XP rates, I'm fine with normal XP rates, but spending 2 hours killing stuff with little to show for it except some gray junk items really sucks the fun out of playing.

Anyway, too late now, so.....

I'd also suggest only going for a single crafting profession, if even that. You can get through much more of the game questing, mob killing and getting gear through Abyss points. With the really bad proc rates for crafting, combined with the lousy drop rates, crafting can be more chore than pleasure. I did vote for Alchemy, as potions are always useful and don't need a proc to get useful ones. I accidentally voted Handicrafting (I think, or Tailoring, wasn't paying too much attention, obviously ) on the second one, instead of the intended Cooking. Cooking is also useful without needing to proc much of anything at these levels.

Oh, and Spiritmaster is fine, even if I voted Warrior (would have voted Glad if that had won).

Word of warning, take alchemy and food for your crafts, if you do not, the result will be you spending many millions of kinah on random failed rolls, the two mentioned are cheap and because of that the randomness on outcomes doesnt sting so much, plus both are useful.

Aions crafting is garbage in both implementation and intent. Ignorant asian suits and asshat devs, bad combo.

Can we have the option to switch games please, I think that's reasonable?

This way people have to keep voting to make sure their game stays covered, which will go a long way to preventing people bulk voting from related sites and skewing what the massively community has asked for?

Very sad this is not Age of Conan given the expansion was out yesterday and was the winner of the poll for a long time prior to the spamming by the Aion community.

You're an enormous AoC fanboy, we get it. We're all terribly sorry that this site covers other games.

Aww, so cute when you sperg.

I'm genuinely sorry that you get upset when a site has an article about one shitty game instead of another.

I vote for NO CRAFTING since it is simply a time and money sink in the game.

Good lord, only 9 comments in and the amount of butthurt whining is astounding.

If you have to craft (don't), go cooking and make sure to have plenty of spellpower and mana treatment food.

After getting Miragents and spending far too much time looking for PVP in the abyss, I have to say that your adventure should be: "Play another MMO".

This game is devoid of content and I only continue to play in the hopes that 1.9 will bring enough people back to make PVP a plausible day to day activity.

Chill dudes. Aion's a boring game, I agree, but save it for when there's actually something to discuss. He's played the first 12 levels, which were well designed and enjoyable. He expressed some positive and negative points, all of which were true. If you disagree with something he said, then address that specifically.

You cheated with the poll in my opinion - or someone cheated and you were not too eager to stop it. Either way - I am not reading your column nor any future review your personally publish.

It really is a shame that I put so much time and effort into these things for the sake of the readers, and all I get is conspiracy theories about vote rigging and cheating polls. What would it personally benefit me or the site to write about Aion instead of AoC? I am baffled at the paranoia sometimes.

Well, I enjoy this column, regardless of which game you are playing at the time. It lets the readers have some say in which direction you go and is fun to read along to see what happens. I generally don't vote on the options if you are playing a game I'm not familiar with because I have no idea what they are about, but otherwise it is always interesting. Ignore the crazies and have fun with it!
