More than once I've had to say "AFK for tornado". As a matter of fact, I might have to do it tonight! God bless Oklahoma. Somebody needs to get that bastard a tissue. :-P

me being a powergaming whore i usually have 1-3 ventrilo's running at any given time and have different keybinds for them. i sometimes mix them up resulting in very... funny circumstances.

broadcast to 1:"ye, lets move in from the left and flank them"
broadcast to 2 (has spy): "we're moving in from the left, hold there until we have group 3 in place for a flank from the right.
broadcast to 3 (but pressing nr 2): we're holding the spy in 2 in check, move in from the right, hold, 1 will flank"

....massive chaos from ventrilo enseus :(

ok I lol'ed at the first 2 comments :-)

I'm not a powergaming hore but I'm usualy in skype, TS2 and TS3 at the same time and sometimes forget to mute my skype where We're talking about our university home work while being in a raid and the guild TS at the same time. Well I like to tell my guildies how horrible the raid is going and now and then I push the wrong push-to-talk button and the raid hears me or i forget to mute my skype and my fellow students are like: wtf are you talking about?

even worse though is when I'm joking with my guildy girls while on skype with my girlfriend and she has no idea whats going on and thinks i'm flirting with other girls :-(

I once told a sort of inside joke we have to my Columbian friend who was with me in the room that when taken out of context offended a party member who I assume was latin american. I didn't even get a chance to apologize he just yelled something at me and quit mid-dungeon. We succeeded anyways, but I still feel really bad about it.

:(

We have a guild member who has the softest, most calming voice. But sometimes when we're about to load a zone the voice chat gets stuck and we hear him shouting at his kids to be quiet. The thing is he doesn't take his headset off, and boy is it loud!

I have been in vent talking with our kin during runs where we have outsiders without vent in our group. One night we were running the latest 6-man in Lotro (SG) when after so many "accidental" bone pile pops and so many subtle hints I typed out in fellowship chat, "When I said watch out for the bonepiles, I did not mean watch yourself as you walk into them." Massive laughter ensued in vent as the others could not believe I had said that. The guy replies in chat, "I'm not laughing" to which we all laughed even harder. Nerves could have been on edge because of his blunders, but because of our background conversation going on we did not mind as much. He wound up leaving our group which made us laugh even more. Then our kin leader changed our MoTD to: "I'm not laughing." Good times!:D

The most interesting for me was when I was on a raid in WoW -- back in the 40 man days -- and one of our officers said there was an emergency and he had to go afk for a bit. Not a good situation to be in, but what can you do? Unfortunately for us all, he accidentally left the mic open and we soon discovered that this "emergency" was a surprise visit from his girlfriend. The sounds that soon interrupted our raid were not at all appropriate for young audiences. Unfortunately, it also turned out that he'd muted the computer so that he wouldn't be distracted by the sounds of the raid and so couldn't hear us yelling at him before the raid leader booted him from the channel.

Needless to say, he lost his officer status that night and was persona non grata for quite a while after.

"The police are here now, they're taking away my ex-boyfriend"

The ex-boyfriend also used to be in the guild, and had moved in with a different female guildmate, who had been appropriately warned about said boyfriend's leeching ways. He arrived, she pre-emptively booted him out on his ass, and he wanted to move back in with the original female guildmate.

Such a bizarre situation. But yes, the words "He's on his way? Then you better call the cops" from the guild leader definitely silenced the channel.

He was a really good offtank for raiding, but he ended up moving to another server after the incident with the police.

We had a guy that put his vent so that when he talked it picked up his voice, no need for push to talk. So when we did not want to talk he turned his mic off, however one day he forgot to do that. So he went to go watch some...things...on the internet and for about a half-hour everyone on vent was dead silent as this guy was making some..noises...about the stuff he was watching. Well after a while someone spoke up saying "So hows that working out for you?", the other dude freaked out an left the guild and vent, never to return again.
