I doubt it'll effect SWTOR even a little bit other than maybe some communication lines being changed or temporarily slowed. Its not like this guy was a creative designer incharge of the intended design of the game in anyway. Hes' a glorified manager / paper pusher.

Maybe the memo finally came in about the CU & NGE in Star Wars Galaxies.

Hopefully this. Someone from Lucas Arts should have been fired for that disaster (not just at SOE).

Ah, I sure hope so! They must pay for what they did with the NGE.

gamasutra says Darrell was at EA before he joined Lucasarts in 2008....

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/18112/LucasArts_Gets_EA_Exec_Rodriguez_As_President.php

Darrell never worked for SOE and wasn't involved in SWG NGE/CU. get a clue people.

I believe TOR has been in the works since before Rodriguez joined LucasArts, so I'd think it'll be unaffected. EA is the one publishing TOR(I think, since they own BioWare), with LucasArts just producing, so I would think LucasArts' shifting a few positions around wouldn't affect the game. Rodriguez isn't a producer on TOR, so no difference.

I would also add that the last REALLY good Star Wars game was KOTOR, which was really spear-headed by Bioware anyways. LucasArts is probably just there for some creative consistency checks but I bet the vast majority of what made KOTOR so great was all Bioware. Like the poster above stated, another suit and tie bites the dust, move along, nothing to see here.

For *Anyone* concerned about this, take a breath and shift your concerns back to Bills, angry Girlfriends, or whatever plagues you. If you actually read the Kotaku Article, as well as the article posted over on IGN, they've already made it clear that LucasArts and BioWare have stated that the change will *not* effect the production of TOR. As the game is about to enter it's Beta stage, no one is going to try to derail anything.

Even when they bring in the New Guy, or Gal, they likely won't have anything more to do with TOR than making sure the game makes it's release date and does so *Finished* so as to avoid Major fail moments like Mythic's WAR release. Remember, Mythic is inhouse now alongside BioWare, so they know how badly things can go. Though I'm sure there will be greater clarification in the coming weeks, they've given enough information for now to put everyone's minds at ease.

None, SWTOR is safe in the hands of BioWare's leadership (Ray Muzyka & Greg Zeschuk), this is a huge project for both EA and LucasArts, especially for EA & their CEO John Riccitiello after Mythic's failure under his push for new innovative games since he took over only a few years ago he has no room for failure with SWTOR.

Why would it affect TOR? It wouldn't. It's like if the president of Ford resigns tomorrow; it doesn't stop the production line on new Ford cars. What a cheesy way to try and tie in the name of a big game.

I forgot to add -- hire people who actually have some journalism skills. Because whoever wrote this, has no clue.
