Frogster has finally announced the official release date of their Chapter III - The Elder Kingdoms content update for Runes of Magic. The free-to-play fantasy MMORPG will be expanding on May 18th, adding everything from a huge new region, to multiple dungeons, to a multitude of new quests.
The new area is the continent of Zandorya, presided over by the monarchy of Dalanis which is in turn ruled by the child-king Callaway. Adventurers will be tasked with restoring the glory of the old Dalanis dynasty and subduing the forces of chaos at work in the kingdom. Players at level 55 and above can already access the first territory from the new kingdom, an area known as Thunderhoof Hills. On May 18th, players will able to access a new collectible card system, new instance difficulty levels and reward systems, new guild castle features and minigames, as well as an expanded level cap.

I play it at 1920x1080. They recently changed the fonts too so it is crisp and easy to read. The crappy text they used before was a major turn off for me. Seems like a fun game though, I wish I had more time to throw at it.

I'm pretty sure I've *always* played at 1280x960...

Great news. Now... Why are theynot hyping this up with pre-order deals and extra irems? Maybe because they are allowing ppl to play it to find out themselfs? Compare this to what Funcom is doing with IMO less of an expansion with AOC. P2P is built on fooling the gamers to play for things they might not like. But there are other ways to do buisness.

it's a content update.... not an expansion homie.
And nothing is really wrong with doing deals and items for an expansion, just gives small insentives for people buy the expansion and play the game.
and people playing the game= better experience playing
better experience play= Fun

Just pointing out that expansion and content update is what the devs prefer to call it. Funcom is charging their players for a content update - Frogster is giving ppl free expansion. If you look at the two.. there is almost no diffrence in the content. The main diffrence is the price.

So they're giving away pretty much the same amount & size expansions/content updates.
Pretty much comes down to how much better the content is in AOC to justify the sub fee when they also have a cash shop which is the only way ROM makes money.
Havent played either yet though changing that later this month when I get a comp that can handle AOC.
Been looking at a few different MMO's to get into now, any suggestions from anyone?

How is this thread turning into an AOC vs ROM debate?? They're completely different games having almost nothing to do with one another except both have pending expansions. AOC charges a sub and for a major expansion pack because they don't have a cash shop. ROM depends solely on a shop for funding. End of debate. They're both good games.

If by "new collectible card system" you mean the system that lets cards give you a bonus to your stats, you're a little behind the times, that's been in for a week or two... =P
