So we at Massively heard that you all have work, school, doctor appointments, and various time zone issues that sometimes make it impossible for you to be around at the right time. When we are giving away Fallen Earth product keys, for example.
Never fear, though, because we've managed to get our hands on another 500 keys for you! Just like before, this is the full game client rather than a trial, so you'll be all set to check out patch 1.4 and join us in Embry Crossroads tomorrow night for the Blood Sports Brawl. Check out all the details on Fallen Earth's news page, and be sure to say hi to Shawn, Rubi, Sera and Edward when you arrive in-game. Our character names are Shawn, Rubi Ari, Seraphina Reymont and Knuckles McSquee -- we'll leave you to figure out who is who.
Visit our product key giveaway page to get your code, then head to the Fallen Earth site to create your account and download the client. Thanks to the Fallen Earth devs for their generosity, and we'll see you all in the wasteland!

1500 copies in what? Three days? How are they making money any more? :P

It's not uncommon for subscription MMOs to move towards a point where they'll drop the up-front charge in order to encourage people to subscribe (and hopefully stick around). Fallen Earth seems to be doing this in a controlled and limited manner to start with.

The real money comes from subscribers long term, rather than selling the game.
Tho I admit that it's pretty cool getting it free at a time when it's not free :D

You have to enter payment info?? I take it they are hoping ppl forget to cancel once the 30 days are up..

I can't think of a single pay-to-play MMO out there that doesn't require payment info when you register a product key...
There may be some out there, but they would be exceptions to the rule.

Yay! Been wanting to try this game, did not want to pay the box price. 15.00 to see if it sucks isn't too bad, and I've been craving a new game.
Thanks, Massively

I personally didn't like the game but I think it's awesome that a company is willing to give out their product for free. It shows they are confident in what they deliver. Good job, FE team!

Kinda sucks that I have to enter some credit card number (yes, I don't have one). Anyway, thanks for the giveaway.

Keep in mind, as far as I know, you can also use paypal to set up an account subscription. And yes, I imagine they are hoping that some people accidently pay for an extra month when the time is up. But I think most people will like the game enough to want to continue playing, and for those who accidently buy an extra month when the time comes: It's your own fault! And for those who think this is a sign FE isn't selling, I just view this as an extended free trial (which most MMOs give you a free trial of one length or another) but without any of the trial restrictions. I also don't remember where I heard this, so could be completely wrong, but FE has been pulling in about 35k new subscribers per week over the past few weeks so I think the game is growing steadily. If you watch the help channel a lot you see most new players saying they love the game and are going to sub and very rarely see someone who's not enjoying it. But no game is for everyone...

Dustystrike, my uncle and I each grabbed a free code key (I'm going to give mine to my next door neighbor and he's going to give his to his best friend since we both already have paid subs) and his key and mine are completely different. So I'm guessing each free key is unique and you shouldn't have any problems. However I think they indicated you need to use it by the end of May 16th or so.
