With the recent relaunch of Alganon including a change of model to something more akin to Guild Wars than the original box & subscription model, there are quite a few people taking a look at the game and reporting back on their impressions. Today we have a lush One Shots taken recently by Todd L. who has been checking the game out as well. He writes in to give us his impressions on the view in the above screenshot: "I was out adventuring in the woods of Alganon on my Healer and stopped for a second to take in the scenery in the forest before getting back to the tasks at hand. What a great view!"
From big to small MMOs, we love to see what you're doing. All you have to do to take part of the fun is to email your image to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and your thoughts/description of what we're seeing. Please make sure your image is at least 1024 pixels wide, and has as little UI showing as possible. Yours could be the next one we feature here on Massively!

That's an odd way to wear a staff.

What a great view, I have never seen random generic forests with random hills before. Simply underwhelming! Well the best part is the healer wearing what appears to be a t-shirt and some skinny jeans. It is a shame that such a wonderfully generic screen shot is ruined by such a horribly ugly player model.

So Cindy, what is the difference between WoW and Alganon? LUA based UI, check! Quest Grinding, check! Handheld minimap quest tracker, check! Talent trees, check! Instances, check! Two faction system, check! My problem is that the game is still a complete ripoff of another game on the market that has 1000x the content and stability.
Heck, even the Alganon world map is a sham. How much of the map is actually explorable, 20%? The rest simply doesn't exist? I am sorry, if you enjoy the game fine, but I have yet to see a single honest reason to pick this game over WoW or RoM, or DDO, or GW, or AoC, or even Aion. So, if I am wrong, please do tell me exactly why we should play this game instead of WoW? Don't say the community because that no longer exists thanks to a certain person who would rather tell people to leave than post criticism.

Damn, we've actually got more than 1% of Alganon's playerbase defending the game in this comment thread. Hi CindyL!

I'm not defending crap, I'm pointing out that even though snark is the new black this season I find it less then tasteful to take it to this type of post; supposed to be in the spirit of 'look at the pretty piccy'.
Don't think you know exactly what I think of the game just based on the fact I'm not impressed with the comments here.

lol
The lady gets bothered when negativity becomes too familiar, follow my comments, I do this once in a while, I don't mean to but I find it mildly depressing and really annoying when people roll with their snark for too long. Especially in a place where it's not necessary in my view. I just don't see the use in it, spend your energy in a place you enjoy, not slagging something you don't like. So pointless.
Btw, my interest in Alganon is very fresh, I swept it under my rug under 10 minutes flat at it's first release for all the reasons already posted, now that's it's cheap I'm looking at it again. In no way am I it's greatest champion. Again check my comments. ;)

And one more thing, IF I had been the person submitting that image to Massively, I would have been pretty stoked, but reading these comments I would have been pretty disappointed to say the least, and that would have deterred me from submitting any thing else. It's detrimental to the community in my most humble opinion, which is why I didn't like it and said so.
Take that as you will.

Well, there will be fans of any game out there. The brief 10 minutes I spent playing Alganon I saw much better views than this though. However, saying Alganon had some good views is like me going to take a dump and taking a look at the work that's been done. It's still crap you know?
I wouldn't call it a good screen shot, much to cluttered and boring. Remember that LOTR screen shot a while back that looked like a painting? Now that's how you do a screen shot.
Try a different camera view next time as well..make it more interesting than just.. Flat.
Bye bye :)

Well, I wasn't meaning to be insulting, just joking about the staff was all, and hoping that whoever read my comment would catch that off the bet.
Having played the game, its alright, and the environments are great as well. But the character models just feel... tacked in, weapon placement, specially that staff, seem to share that odd quality. And I'm sure anyone who has played the game would agree.
