Back when Wow was 'vanilla' (circa 2005) I met a couple by chance who were leveling their characters in Redridge Mountains.
We ended up sticking together right through to L60 (and beyond), and got to know each other really well.

5 years later, and we still hook up for doing runs on the same realm, still keep in regular contact via phone and email, and I've been a guest at their home in Philadelphia three times. (I'm from Australia)

They're two of my closest friends.
Thanks, WoW =)

Just tell people "I met my wife in Bree" It might leave them wondering and you can snicker about it.

I got into a guild with a workmate and ended up meeting up with them all. I still keep in touch with a few people even though I don't play the game anymore.

Met my husband in Shadowmoon Valley... while gathering Nightmare Vines, my gnome butt got attacked by undead arakkoa, and he saved me... and the rest is history! Since not everyone plays WoW, I can't tell this to everyone, I just say we met while playing an online game.

It was way complicated though, we had to go through USCIS to be together... the fun of having officers hearing our story! (not). Took years to be actually together, a 6 months visit to meet each other personally, and then another wait after he proposed

Met the wonderful woman who would be my wife in Second Life, back in 2007.

We both had been married before, and meeting every day in SL we talked about what didn't work in our previous marriage, and what we wanted/needed out of a relationship.

After seven months of SL, skype, and video chat we decided to meet in person.

We clicked, and I started visiting her every month (I was in Canada, she in the US - a 4 hour flight).

A year after we met we married, it's been an amazing adventure so far and I am very grateful for having asked her to dance in SL that one day :)

Koss, Tahlkora, Vekk, and all the other heroes in Guild Wars. Sigh. We had some great adventures together.

We got along so well. They were always ready to adventure when I was. They never complained, never rage-quit, and never criticized my build or my strategies.

Oh, wait.

Were you referring to real people? Then never mind. ;)

Similar story to Stan, my wife and I met whilst trying to stay alive on one of the many jaunts through the Emerald Jungle; we have a lot to thank the original Everquest for :)

I met my (now ex) wife in MIRC around 96....it was really unheard of to move away to be with a woman that you met that way then. My family freaked out. But it all worked out. Even tho she is my ex now....we have 2 kids together and are really good friends. I wouldnt change a thing.

Met my wife in the Ruins of Lorderon in WoW when she was levelling a Blood Elf for fun on my server and I was levelling mine. She was just sitting around, and I decided to start RPing with her for the fun of it. We kept on talking after that and though it took a fews years, but we got married just under a year ago.

I met my wife on an online dating service, we have now been together for 8 years.

Several of my best friends, I met in Earth & Beyond, and even more great friends in City of Heroes/Villains. Most of which we are still in contact with, and several of which we visit regularly.

I met my wife in Asheron's Call back in 2000. Though I suppose technically we met on the forums of the old Crossroads of Dereth site, and then in game. She lived in southern CA and I lived in Rhode Island.

We've been together 9 years and have two boys.

She's from WA i'm from a military family. Have done the long distance thing for about a year now (lot's of plane tickets). I'm moving out there this June.
