I second this remark. It might be cool, but realistically, I don't think I could spare the time for this type of gig.

A Warhammer Online Correspondent? I thought that game was supposed to have died years ago...according to a group of Massively commenters that is...

I wonder if any of them apply for the gig??

;)

You still need a FFXI columnist that knows anything at all about the game.

Don't forget the Magic 8 Ball requirement for speculating on what all the games that aren't even out yet are going to play like.
Please massively... I love your site but please have your writers try to focus on what we know about games, whether current or upcoming.

Errr...what exactly do wannabe editors include in their application? So far as I can tell, all you want is a name and contact info? I would assume you'd also like a resume and cover letter of some sort, given that it's a full time position? Do you want a writing sample? If so, do you care about the topic? Do you want a "background for your game of choice" section, or is that only for the columnists?

Yeah, go ahead and include the info on your favorite game, characters, etc. We look at several things in these apps, including ability to follow directions and spelling/grammar usage. From there, we will quiz the best in grueling time trials and relay races. Or maybe just some proofreading tests :)

Just tell us about yourself, your experience and whatever you feel we need to know. Resumes are certainly appreciated. A writing sample isn't required, but can be included.

So do you hire people who are 15? :D If it helps, mentally I'm probably 30.

I threw my hat into the ring. This would be a wonderful opportunity for me, looking for a new job and a way out of my old, dirty job I currently have.

Well, i hate to be the one to point this out, but considering that this comment contains a grammatical error: good luck, dude.

I'm qualified for the position of West Coast Editor and yet I live in Seattle, WA. Would my application still be considered?

I'm curious about that myself Dan. I was hoping someone in authority would respond to your question (perhaps after the weekend), but guess you and I will have to continue to be patient.

Certainly, you can apply. The reason for a West Coast Editor is to cover west coast events (in addition to other editorial duties) and there are certainly events and studios in Seattle. You would just need to also be willing to travel down to San Fran and LA when needed.

Woot! Thanks Shawn for responding. When sending in my application to you guys I was so tempted to write next to my address in the first few lines: "Don't let the Tucson address stop you from considering me!" But decided it was a better idea to just follow the directions you'd given already. My application is on it's way, now I just need to cross my fingers and hope for an interview... :D
