Considering the website has an age restriction (which doesn't work: putting in a birthday over 18 years of age just brings up a "you must be 18 to visit this site) my guess is they are more going for a cybersex thing.

From their facebook page:

Q. Can you explain to us how the adult content in the game translates into productive play?

A. When adults engage in play, there is often an element of sexuality to it. Think about how adults interact at Burning Man, Mardi Gras (or any costume party) or just a night out at the clubs. VIE offers a place to play and includes the option of sex and erotic animations without being vulgar, juvenile or inappropriate. Obviously there’s a demand for this content, and we have some very cool stuff for adults who want to play in this way. If you don’t, we’ll make sure you won’t be subjected to it.

Heh.

Sounds like they haven't quite figured out their actual target age group yet. Then again, "adult" or "mature" in entertainment is usually

seems like alot of angry feminists read this site. shopping and socializing (including roleplay) is much higher on my female friends' priority lists than fragging mobs. it will be interesting to see if VIE can actually grab market share from SL.

That women type usually is not interested in play videogames or MMOs. Really this game must be targeted to some women not for all women.

Angry feminist? what the hell are you talking about?

They said that prefer a MMO targeted to everyone, not only for men or women. For me that is very reasonable and healty. The most of the women prefers socialice and do constructive things or non-combat activities, not only kill-kill-kill every game hour. Include these women tastes will be a good aportation to create new and best MMOs, but relegate these activities to "women targeted MMOs" is the worst thing that they can do, both to game and for players.

If women wants crafting, housing, create towns and shops, and non-combat activities all these thing were included in SWG. A MMO for everyone with the high percentage of femenine players that I remember. More than the most of the more recent MMOs.

Just ignore, Ingrod...there's always has to be an ignorant git in every thread pining for attention. Best walk away and not feed it.

Looks like this site doesn't like certain special characters. "...is usually less or equal than 18 anyway" was the rest of the message.

I'm a women gamer as well. I never thought I would be into anything like World of Warcraft but I do like it. I'm also a girly girl, no everything isn't about shopping and intimate encounters but what's the harm in giving it a try. Maybe they were generalizing a little too much but give them the benefit of the doubt, I don't think there's enough information to make any judgments yet.

I'm into girly stuff too...but I much prefer to go around blowing things up in a frilly costume than engaging in "unique shopping experiences." :)

Maybe they should consider combining the two. They would probably get a better response.

My lord, they must be extremely stupid. Any female that would even hear about this game are probably already playing some mmo or are not part of the demographic they're aiming it at.

I am a female and I believe this will flop.

Seriously? I was interested in the concept of "MMO focused on women", but they lost me at "shopping" and "fashion".
