I've been enjoying the beta so far, but can some one tell me why there are Spartan warriors in loincloths at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean?

As for the gameplay one of my major objections is that it's difficult to target the correct monster. It's also got way too many currencies and tokens to trade in. Most of which have little to no explanation on how to use and/or get them.

meh.. was kinda excited when I saw the dev diary..but click to move as the only option... seriously.. wtf.. and instead of selecting mobs when you press tab some freaking map pops up??? cmon... are all people who port games from east idiots or what?

But what bothers me the most is that you can't rotate your camera up and down.. feels like I can only see things 10 meters ahead.. fail

Yep, its pretty much Isometric in its view, thats why the controls are only click-to-move, and can't tab-target....

which is also why I have no real interest in this game, liked the looks a little, but the isometric view is just a little lazy...

It's called "Isometric camera", do you remember a game franchise called "Diablo"?, maybe you are to young to remember, but most action rpgs looked like that, and with the click to move system...

Yeah, there is no "tabbing for target", but there is "ยบ" (that key on top of tab) that does pretty much the same job...you just need to move your pinky finger a bit further.

I`m really enjoying the game so far, it's pretty addictive, and runs very smoothly, there are tons of things to do, maybe too much, it gets overwelming XD.

It's been mentioned numerous times that this is a "Diablo-style" game. If you didn't know that or you didn't understand what that meant then you, sir, are the idiot.

You can use the ` (tilde next to 1) key to cycle targets... solid game just wish it was better itemized...

Anyone else notice that the first 20 levels or so of game play story are a complete ripoff of the "Mummy" movie franchise?

The lore in this game baffles me.

I've been tempted to give it a try (I have a key etc) but I got scared off watching some videos.
I love Diablo II, Titan's Quest, Sacred 1 and Torchlight - is this worth a download or are my bases already covered with the games I mentioned?

It's not as good as Diablo II. But if you want something of that nature to fritter away some playtime while you wait for Diablo III, well, at least it's free.

Thanks for the reply.

Just downloaded and installed it..
- 46,123 files (lol!) Even Wow only has just over 5000. That's hilarious that the files aren't packed in any way (and amateur/unprofessional)
- It installs by default to C:\
- The login (character select) screen.. could it look any more like Wow's LK login?

Pretty funny so far, and I haven't even got inside the game proper yet.
;p

(double-checks all malware/spyware/port blocker/sniffer applications are up and running..)

I noticed a lot more games lately install by default to the C drive. I'm pretty sure you can change it. Just run a scan if you're paranoid. I doubt there is anything shady in the files. Its a fun game so far.

Haha yah it's so ridiculous (the game) I actually can't stop playing!
It's so 'bad' that it's good, if you know what I mean.

Aside from the terribad text-not-fitting-in-boxes, localisation/translation/typos, the myriad of menus that read "????????" and buttons or features that are simply unlabeled or don't have an explanation at all.. it's actually fun to run around with a chainsaw-wielding koala. :D

(I actually do like the pet system)

Between myself and my pet I think I've leveled about a million times in 20 mins (ok slight exaggeration) but the crazy thing is, you don't need to worry about health potions.- you level up so fast your HP gets reset anyhow.

What I find ultimately jaw-dropping though, is the 'combat aid' feature.
Have you checked that out? It's an AFK botting macro setup.. I guess that's one way to get rid of the issues; have it as part of the game!

And I love how it rewards you items and bagspace for staying logged in - where all other games are warning you to take a break after 1 hour, this one gives you shiny's for skipping meals and sleep!

This is so over the top crazy/stupid I actually like it, and as long as I continue to keep my expectations below zero (lol) I shouldn't be disappointed as I get further in.

96-combo FTW (so far!)

Okies Quez :D

That's if I can stop playing for long enough to alt-tab out to my browser, eek help! I can't seem to stop lol.. must kill more..!

Crowning moment was getting an item that turned me into a PINK SPARKLING LOLBEAR (caps required)
So cute! :o)

Haha it's so badly localised and there's so many things just *wrong* with it, yet I'm having a ball. I think if it took itself seriously I'd have uninstalled it by now, but I certainly haven't played anything quite like this that I remember.
It's almost like an Atlus game.

PS: Will I ever get more than three pet slots?
And what's the 'Soul Sync' on my weapons? Do I need to do something when they hit 100%?

I tried this game originally because I love Torchlight and can't wait for D3. I thought the graphics looked nice in the screens, and the art style is a blend of WoW and Aion, and I enjoy both styles. The detail in the environments is really great considering it only allows the isometric view, which is fine once you get used to it.

Amana is right, the leveling is fast and furious at first, and you almost gain a level per quest up to about 10. Then it tapers off slightly, but it's still flows really nicely, and as you knock out the short but easy quests, you basically level without even thinking about it. I really haven't had to use many heal pots, but mana goes a bit fast with my Heretic while constantly killing with no resting.

I don't morally agree with the combat aid feature, but it is probably the best way to prevent bots; it's not like the gameplay makes you concentrate very hard anyway, even if you aren't using the combat aid. I think there's actually some kind of penalty for using it in game anyway.

This game doesn't ask for much out of the players except that you play it. You get stuff for just being there. I don't like all the different currencies that they have in there, it just confuses me, and there is little explanation as to what everything is for. Even some of the tooltips on items leave you with the "huh?" feeling early on, mostly because I think you can't use them until higher level of crafting or whatever they call it.

The combat so far, (up to level 25ish) is easy, fun, and addictive. The pet levelling system is awesome, and I would hope that you get a bunch more pet slots eventually. The gear and weapons that level up with you so far have had about 4 'ranks' per item, and they get replaced with new Soul sync items from questing.

I have yet to see more than like 2 rare item drops, and all my gear is easily acquired so far just from the questline, which by the way, if you follow and complete the quests, it moves you along nicely, without feeling any way like a grind. You level so fast anyway, I don't see how it can be considered grindy.

I'm looking forward to playing more and seeing how it goes--I don't even know what the level cap is. What drives the game is the mindless ease of play, a lot like Torchlight, where you just kill hordes of stuff and have fun doing it.

Many of the menus/game options/event stuff is still confusing to me, and I am thinking this game will be only as deep or shallow as you want it to be, which is a great thing. I haven't grouped yet, but the community seems more active every time I log in.

I am keeping in mind that this IS still a beta, and I don't ever expect much from F2P betas, but I'm impressed and enjoyably distracted by this game so far.

I would like to know if the friends list is global, or limited to server...if anyone wants to team up or find me in game, I'm a Heretic named Quez :P

the pink bear was awesome, a nice treat for an hour or whatever.

Oh, one last bit...I haven't been able to capture a pet for quite a while--they all pretty much so far seem to be tameable, but I don't know if you have to have your current pet stored to get a new one.

Nicely said Quez, and I can't disagree with anything you've said =)

I'm L22 already (and a Heretic also) and the time's absolutely flown by. I was meant to be in Wow tonight.. that was over 4 hours ago whoops. It's only seemed like a few minutes as I've been having so much fun.

You're right on with the leveling. It doesn't feel like grinding even though it's totally mindless (as you say).

I've been laughing myself silly at some of the weapons in here; I've got a staff that has a moving claw on the end of it, I've seen some guy running around with 2 whole scorpion/crab pincers as dual weapons, and I just saw a mace that was *so ridiculously huge* I nearly died laughing. It even had jets of fire and steam coming out of it - hilarious!

I really hope they concentrate on tidying up the menus and UI now, because if they do (and if they market it right) this could be a real winner.

You get more pet slots, my lvl 55 guy has 4 slots.

Soul Sync is your affinity with your weapon that grows as you use it more, and you get extra attack bonuses as your lvl of 'Soul Sync' grows.

Tilde key for auto-targeting. You can also change the camera setting in the Game Settings > Performance window. Change the Camera Alt to "Ultra". I found out you can zoom out way more with that. The game is fun and always lots to do. ^_^
