What level do non-scouts get this Remove Shock skill at? If it's too late-game (40+), it's not going to help much against getting chain stunned and killed over and over because players will already have decided to quit the game.

Far to late with this, most have moved on. Only i would ever consider play this game again is if the XP gain was at least doubled.

Aion has been doing double XP weekends almost every other weekend, plus you get Energy of Repose (40% bonus) which can be stacked on top of that. Energy of Salvation (30% bonus) is being added in 1.9, although the update notes aren't exact on when you get that.

I agree with vista. I just left the game recently. Even with 2x XP weekend, most of the time it's tedious boring grinding, very low drop rates, and too many currency drains. I held on as long as I could and I do miss my friends on Lumiel but, as much as I'd like to be, I am simply not a 24/7 player.

I'll probably be back after 1.9 but it is just taking so long for NCSoft to take action. It always takes forever for them to take any action. I wish in the mean time that they could just edit the numbers for XP to 150% till L45, double the drops rates, and halve the NPC costs. I know that won't happen. Forgive my QQ but I am so weary of NCSoft's promises.

Interesting anti-stun mechanics, now they just need to add anti-fear mechanics ;)

It's pretty, and the core mechanics are fun. You get hit pretty hard by the grinding once you're in the 30s though.

If you can stand the grind, there's a fun game there.

Eleventy billion assassins?

I rarely see assassins around in this game, what I see everywhere are clerics though, they're all over the god damn game.

Also more counters? Soon there'll be counters to counters and that still won't be enough.

I rather think not seeing assassins is the whole point....

Why is it developers never seem to learn from each other? I seem to remember Dark Age of Camelot having to introduce anti-stun / mez / oh-dear-god-why-can't-I-move mechanics years ago, and I'm sure they're not the only ones.

If your a groundpounder (close in melee) your at a huge disadvantage (unless your golded out) in combat, ranged rules, hands down, why the anti stun mechanic i have no clue other than the populations being as so very small the same few folks are getting stunlocked over and over, and since this is a high level problem (less than 120 or so level 50's per faction per server, less on some) the fix makes even less sense.

When folks complain about getting rolled over and over or gankers tell those folks they rolled 15 levels under them on the forums this is the way the game is intended to be played, and the game isnt balanced until your level 50, maybe there is somethig wrong with the folks that thought this out.

You will see the small vocal minority of gankers crying about this and the lack of population (they cant gank low level prey for easy ap points) and are forced into the abyss where they are forced to level or run in packs to survive. Its bad enough grinding, but to be ganked "as intended"? Anyone wondering why Aion is in the state its in.......... I personally hope these NCSOFT folks lose everything, jobs etc for poor choices in development.

The game is dead, the ignorant asses just dont want to admit it.

I'd have to agree with the sentiments here.

I simply don't understand what NCSoft has at risk by dramatically changing the four core variables that would make this game more appealing to Western players:
- double (minimum) the XP
- reduce mob health by 1/3
- halve the money sinks
- triple the required item drop rates

Let alone adding in more quest-based content to disguise the grind just a bit, and of course allow a flagged PVP system to allow carebears and PVE'ers to level in peace.

I liked the world when I was there. I also like the character models, sounds and animations.
I'd like to be able to just have fun and play it without glazing over. Sheesh.

But, as has been noted time and time again with this Korean company; they simply don't care.
I know I would though, if it meant thousands upon thousands of Western subs.

Their heads are so far up their own rear whilst simultaneously being buried in the sand, it's a scientific marvel.

And yes, it should either be handed off to Western devs or just pulled, imho.

This game is already by far the easiest Korean MMO ever released. With upcoming 1.9 and 2.0 changes it gets even more carebear-ish. XP is fine now with all those double XP weekends (no, really).

Your suggestions are just plain stupid. Mobs have too much HP? And you want a XP boost on top of that? What else? A button that automatically gets you lvl50 with top gear and 1bil Kinah?

Aion is a good game, it just needs some tweaks in some quests (cough, Miragent/Fenril). Also up until now it lacked endgame content. That has been addressed in 1.9 and 2.0.

And I admit, drop rates are silly right now. It'll be interesting to see if they succeeded balancing it out in 1.9.

What I'm NOT looking forward to in 1.9 tho is this new antistun system. It totally gimped assassins.

"This game is already by far the easiest Korean MMO ever released."

Perhaps next time, instead of simply having a swipe, you should read the comment you're debating?

Whether or not it's the 'easiest' Korean MMO or not is irrelevant. It's still overtly grindy, boring, and features a dearth of content at multiple levels, when compared to the stereotypical tastes of a Western gamer.

I'm not going to do as you, and call somebody's differing opinion 'stupid', but no I do not want an 'instant win' button.

I, like many others from the West (clearly), want a fun game that doesn't require medical stimulants to keep one awake while playing.

I'd say you're a ganking fanboi of the game.
Next time, try to use tools that you're competent with (clearly not words) to waggle around your little epeen and express your love for performing repetitive actions at a computer while slouched in a chair playing your "good" game..

..just not here.

I agree with you, Amana. PARTyZAN sounds like one of those 24/7 no life jerks who are a nightmare in lower level groups because they are pushy, demanding, and think that everyone else has 2 other max level toons and have done the instance 300 times already.

While the numbers you are suggesting are just slightly more then I would suggest (and I do mean just slightly) the areas you recommend fixing, Amana, are exactly inline with what I feel needs to be done to get westerners like me back to Aion.

It seems PARTyZAN (your excessive capitals just scream coolness, dude) is totally content with the idea of a very soon to be sparsely populated server. What PARTyZAN fails to realize, from obviously a brain made numb from 24 hours of tedious boring grinding, is that being "easiest Korean MMO ever released" is not goin to keep Aion in business here in America.

One thing that boggles me though. I have heard that MMO's charge by the hour in Asia. I have no idea how they put up with these type of game paying by the hour.
