Gouskos was very frank and informative at the last PTS QA session. It was refreshing. But the developers are still very guarded when it comes to substantive information regarding careers, and for good reason.

I would not characterize Mythic's recent interaction with its customers as positively as the tone of this article. For months there was next to no information from the development team. They even blamed it, lamely, on bad weather. Since then there have been a couple good producer's letters, dropping some semi-positive hints at class adjustments. But the WAR Herald, the game's news page, has been pretty silent. There hasn't been much substance there.

It's a wonderful PvP game with maddening bugs and a combat and careers team hell bent on buffing already strong classes while ignoring the weak careers. I stay a subscriber because there's no better factional pvp MMO with decent population. I play and enjoy it despite its problems and its feckless development team.

Necro thread I know.

You do realize that the "bad weather" was a monumental destruction of the beltway from record-breaking amounts of snowfall. People were stuck in there homes for days without the ability to get out.

To say it was "bad weather" is like saying that Kate Gosselin is a bit of a jerk and her husband is a bit of a loser.

Play DAoC if you want the real RvR deal.

It's retro sure, but it's light years ahead of WAR and most other new releases.

What ever happened to that awful little dwarf, Paul Barnett?

Maybe I missed some vital news somewhere along the way, but didn't we used to see him in our face every other hour of the day?

The guy used to spout all sorts of crap. Did it finally catch up with him and they got rid of him on the quiet?

Barnett talks in convention as representative of Bioware/Mythic and I probabley would have cast him away through some wormhole.

Im pretty sure that there will be no questions about expansion - or REAL new content. I bet the devs made sure that it would be crystal clear that the bloggers would not be allowed to ask about it.

This new Procuder has absolutly no say on the game. All she will do is talk and give very unclear information about everything and nothing. EA is on the verge of killing yet another MMO and ppl really think SWTOR will be a success ? lol

Bad weather cannot explain the lack of information for such a long period of time. You can write and collaborate with colleagues anywhere. Several weeks without substance gives a bad impression. The slowness of development gives a bad impression.

However, I'm really glad you and the other bloggers got to visit and were allowed to release some good, substantive information. The visit redeems the WAR devs somewhat and is encouraging. I'm in one of the largest and most effective destruction guilds on Badlands. During the winter months there were murmurs in the guild about either relocating or splitting time between WAR and other games. These have been quieted somewhat by the information campaign you participated in.
