I've always been in a casual guild that was family friendly. Having a 9 month old monster that is never pleased for more than 10 minutes at a time pretty much requires me to be in one.

And since both my wife and I play we have to go AFK more often than most. Thankfully all the guilds I've been in have been very family oriented or understanding and didn't hold it against us. They were firm believers in family/children > games

I was recently in a small guild that wasn't really considered a family-friendly guild. Well there was one member of the guild who would always have to go AFK to attend to her children. It wouldn't have been a big deal but she was a healer so when she went AFK the whole group had to wait. One night I swear she went AFK at least 10 times. After a while me and couple of other members got tried of it and found another guild. Just about everyone in this guild cusses like drunkin sailors and I've never felt more at home :P

I don't have any children. So I will probably sound like a jerk saying this but If i did have an infant that needed attending to so much I would just quit MMOs for a while. You could always play console games that you could pause at anytime.

Yeah, ten times in a night is a bit much. We have a lot of parents in our guild, but they know how to manage their time. Sometimes one of them will need a break to put their kid to bed or something, but that's it unless there's an emergency. Ten times a night sounds like they have an infant at home, in which case it's really rude to play with a group. If you know you're going to have to get up that often, there's this little thing I've heard about called soloing...
